Duchess + Bruno

Bruno + Duchess

have now found homes

Hi we are Duchess and Bruno and we are looking for a new home/s.
Duchess is a 10 month old collie mix bitch she is very lively gets on with children and other dogs but not cats. She is well trained knowing the usual commands and is good off the lead. She is bouncy at the moment but am sure she will grow out of it.
She has not as yet had her first season therefore has not been spayed. All in all a very loving and loyal dog and will make someone happy.
Bruno is a 4 year old Rhodisian ridgeback cross he is on a special diet at the moment due to being slightly overweight but is having alot of excercise that has seen a dramatic difference.
He is very laid back and easy going, good off the lead and is very well trained. Poor Bruno does suffer from sensitive skin from time to time which is being treated and is clearing up well. Bruno is such a lovely dog there is no cause for concern in any area due to his sweet nature.
I am very upset to let go these two best friends as I am suffering personal issues and cannot look after then and give them the attention that is required.
I am hoping that either together or separate they will find loving homes.
Please contact Helen if you think you can help these adorable dogs.
Thank you

Henry

Henry is now happily rehomed!

Hi Helen

I can not believe we have had him only for just over 2mths it seems like he has always been living with us. Henry makes us smile everyday.
Henry has settled really well after a few weeks of adjusting.
He did suffer a bit from an upset stomach but with advice from our vets and putting him on
the right food all is now well and he has gained 3k (now weighs 23K) plus his
coat is looking good no dry skin, Henry loves to be groomed!

Henry enjoys his walks and loves to play in the park with his ball.
At the weekends he gets treated by the bakers with a sausage plus treats from the
newsagents.
Everyone in town thinks he is adorable, mind you he is always on his good behavior when we are out.
We are carrying on Jeffrey’s good work and continuing to train i.e. sit at kerbs, stay etc.
Now sits with very little commands.
He has also had trips to the beach and the moors.
All new experiences for him. Was a little unsure to begin with but is getting to
like the sea and the Moors a lot more now.
Henry tends to tiptoe if he is not sure of the terrain he is walking on.

We still have one or two issue to overcome such as whining when he travels
in the car and tends to bark at visitors to the house although he has gained
confidence in myself and Rose he is still wary of other people, but we are
working on this and he is getting better, it will just take a little more
time.

I think if Henry could write this he would say I really like my new home and
I have become much more confident and relaxed although I still get anxious
about some things.

Will update again soon
Best wishes
Roy.

Henry has now gone to live in Devon!

Henry has been with Jeff and his dogs for a few weeks, during which time he has learnt his dog manners.
He didn’t really know anything when he arrived. Henry now knows he must sit and wait for his dinner and responds to commands.
He also behaves well on the lead. He sometimes stands and walks on his hind legs but he hasn’t been taught that, that’s his own little trick!
Henry is more comfortable around men at the moment, possibly because the lady he lived with before was struggling to cope with the whole adolescent litter.
He was hesitant when we arrived to take his pictures but curious enough to come and give us a sniff.
He regularly visits the pub (as part of his social training of course!) and can hear a crisp packet opening at 20 paces!
He such a nice looking boy, he gets lots of attention and titbits from his new people friends in the local!
He is clearly very fond of Jeff and seems like he would be a very loyal dog.

My name is Henry, I am 11 months old and until yesterday I lived with my  brothers and sisters at the house where I was born.

There were eight of us plus Mum all together and as we grew into Labrador size dogs and were allowed to do exactly what we wanted we became too much for the lady.

Most people would have realised this and found us homes earlier but we have now ended up in rescue and they are left to sort out the problem of finding places for us.

Helen stated last night that I am a good old fashioned Heinz 57,

for those of you that haven’t heard the expression it means a general mix up of all sorts of dogs.

I am tan coloured ,the size of a Labrador as earlier said and get on well with other dogs.

I am a little nervous of new people because we didn’t meet many in our originally home but I am getting over this quickly.

I do need a home with another dog as I am used to company and I love all food that comes my way,

maybe there is a bit of a wriggly Labrador in me !!

Buster will be going to his new home soon !!

progress update 28/5/10

Buster has just arrived to foster with Ozzie until he finds a permanent home.
Originally Buster was a DAWG dog from Ireland five years ago but his owner died and has spent the last few months in another foster home.
Unfortunately ill health has prevented this family from keeping him long term, something they were considering, and now Buster needs to find a forever home.
Buster has very good manners around the house, he is clean, can be left in the house alone and quiet at night.
He seems very friendly, loves people, loves his bed and colourful blanket which he treats as a pal, tossing about and sleeping under.
Buster is very strong and energetic, but he wears a Halti which helps on the lead.
Please consider giving Buster a loving forever home, he has a lot to give.
Jane and Ozzie x

Buster is a 6 year old neutered whippet cross, innoculated up to date, very friendly, affectionate, house trained, quick to learn, not socialized with cats, reaction to children not known, some socialization with dogs, been kept on a lead because of fostering. Very easy to towel dry after being out in the rain, travels well in the car, using harness for safety.
