It a bit wet here not like Greece where it hot. Lots of funny, new smelz and new girl arrive today whoze a name is Cara, she very attractive. Helen say because I street dog I have perfect manners with other dogs.
I off to sleep now so more of my excitement tomorrow. I learning Englizh from Radio 4 Helen say that they speaka the Queens Englizh and in calm voice.

progress update 14/8/10
Well I hava final arrived in Englisz after a veeery long time of waiting and lotta of help from some very spezial people.
It is all a bit how do you say- strange but the dog network in Greece is that homes in Englisz love dogs and we are how do say umm blood members.
I have met Mutley (who won’t let me into the middle room) Spike and Skippy but Helen says she will leave it a few days before I am introduced to Dooley an da Dexter, Dooley is a bit bossy at first and also has a continental flair to hiz character.
I am also supervized in the garden as I must admit I have been scanning the fences to see if I can a jump them. As my Englisz is not ver good I would not be able to tell a Polizeman I was lost.
They may think I had sneaked into the country and I wouldn’t be able to explain I have a passport like a real person.
I am having the trouble to understand what is being told to me but I sure that soon I will have a the hang of this Englisz.
I am ver tired so will a write more tomorrow.
I like Peter and hiz family who picked me a up from the airport and they having another Greek dog who explain a lotta to me.

Hi Helen
Phase 1 of Dustys great journey has been successfully completed and he made the ferry trip from Pireaus near Ahens to Heraklion Crete where Andy and Heather met him
as you can see he loves all people and other dogs
Phase 2 to Gatwick is on Thursday and I will phone Thursday when we have picked him up to confirm when we will be back
as you can see he is an odd mix of Dalmation and Pointer I think and a bit bigger than I had thought
He has an incredible story and I hope you can find him a fantastic home for the rest of his life and I can keep in touch with his new owners in his forever home.
From tied to a tree in a remote mountain region of Greece and left to to starve to death and then to Parkstone is quite a journey and I wont tell you [ or Jane ] how much it has all cost but looking at these pictures it has all been worth it.
His story deserves the best ending ….and he that he lives happy ever after !
Talk soon
Regards
Peter

Skippy

progress update 22/8/10

Skippy is now living with Claire !!

Mutley and Spike are very pleased!!

DASTARDLY MESSAGE FROM MUTLEY AND SPIKE
————-
Word around the Rescue is that Helen likes Skippy so much that she is thinking of  keeping her for herself…..!
It  isn’t often that we agree with each other on anything, but we are both in no doubt that this is A Very Bad Thing for our future Bonio rations !!!!!
Please help us to find Skippy a new home…QUICKLY !!!
Yours desperately worriedly
Mutley and Spike

P.S
Er.. better not say anything to Helen that we’ve said any of this, or else we’ll have no Bonios for misusing the website…
She’s out at the moment so she’ll not be happy if she gets back to find this.
Hopefully we can have Skippy safely rehomed before she gets back…
What a bind to be in!

progress update: 20/7/10

Hi, I had a bath today and now smell much nicer. It wasn’t too bad and I did feel less itchy afterwards. Here is a photo of me on the towel drying myself.

On Thurs Helen took me to a lovely house which to my surprise turned out to be Graham of Afrivets surgery.
I would never of known if he hadn’t been there.
There was even a garden for me to play in if I felt nervous.
Graham likes the animals to feel like they are in a house which is less scary than the Doctors I felt completely at home and watched pigeons on the fence whilst he examined me.
Graham said I was a real sweetie and Helen thinks this too.
I liked Graham very much even when he gave me an injection because he gave me a treat straight after.
Helen said that if someone doesn’t offer me a home soon she may end up with another dog. Mutley and Spike rolled their eyes, they have heard all this before.

I went out with The Ball Throwing Gang today, Dooley, Spike and Fudge are The Ball Throwing Gang.
Fudge is Helen’s boss’s dog and on the days she works we all walk together.
Mutley isn’t usually allowed out with this gang as he becomes obsessive over the ball and spoils the games but today he was allowed along as we were going to the field.
The Ball Throwing Gang become The Swimming Gang on the days we go to the field because they all swim in the river. You can see me in the river doing a Otter impression.
Dooley told me all this so I understood the routines.
He said to remember to always let him get the ball.
Unfortunately Mutley did spoil the game and wouldn’t let anyone else have the ball, I am not sure what Dooley thought of this change of rules but I noticed he didn’t grumble at Mutley as he would of at the rest of us.
Helen said  ” Well, that’s it then Mutley has the ball now so we may as well walk around the field”.

Helen said she knew I would be good off the lead as I am a star dog.
I think she is in love with me, I am very good, I always sleep quietly at night,do my business outside and mind my P’s and Q’s with the other dogs.

Hi, I am Skippy and I have just arrived into the rescue today because my family didn’t want me anymore.
It is not bad here and I like Helen who I follow everywhere.
Mutley is not too keen on this and told me to get back in the kitchen, I sneaked around him and am now sitting at Helen’s feet endearing myself to her.
I am not keen on young children they are a bit squealy and run about too much.
I need a bit of TLC which I think I may get here, not too keen on the bath idea though !!

progress update 22/8/10

Hi everyone.
I hope you all like my new pictures,I went on holiday with Angela, Colin, Bozli,Wish and Sprocket.
We had such fun in the field, Colin’s dad came each day for his cup of tea and piece of cake.
In the background you can see some of the horses I got to know as they kept putting there heads over the frnce rail and sniffing me, I did’nt mind as they where gentle with me and two of them are only fouls 3 and 4 month old.
In the field next to us there where lots of people camping so we have lost count of how many people and dogs I met this week but it was lots and lots.
We went to the beach and over the cliffs and went fishing [I wasnt very good at that but dad did'nt catch anything either lol]
I slept in the caravan with everyone and when we came home I went streight back to sleeping on my own in my crate with no fuss.
Dits is possibly Border Terrier / Staffie + ? cross, she is about the size of a small cocker spaniel, being about 7 months old so she is not going to get much bigger..
Dits loves to run and goes for half a jog with colin and wish, sprocket[ she is to young to do a full one ] so we normaly meet them on the way back so that she can join in.
You would have to have a high fence as dits could easily jump a 3 – 4 foot fence just like she does the baby gate to follow me upstairs.
I’ve got to be honest with you I did’nt like dits when she first came to me as she is very high energy and a pain. What a difference a few days make, she is still high energy but chanel that the right way and she is great, really great.
Dits is very much a mummys girl and loves a cuddle from all [but mostly me]
I would not put dits with young children, but teens or the young at heart would be great.
So come on who is up for long walks and lots of fun??
I’m off down the beach for a swim now,
licks and cuddles Dits x

progress update 1/8/10

Hi everyone I thought I’d let you all know that Ditsy has settled in well in her new foster home.
Jane and family have gone on holiday so Ditsy has come to us.
Ditsy is great fun to have around she is such a character she loves to chase her tail and will go to sleep holding it in her mouth.
Dits can get very excited when people come to visit so we are working on that, she has good recall off lead and has good manners when asked to sit ,stay ,leave. but if given the chance she will have anything food wise that you are silly enough to leave down which my husband knows to his horror when his bacon roll was taken[ Ditsy was licking her lips so it must have been good]
Ditsy has met lots of dogs on our daily walks and has been very good ,she loves to go for a swim with Sprocket & Wish
and is a nightmare when you are trying to water the garden with the hose as she thinks she can do it better and tries to catch the water so it takes twice as long to get it done.I know I shouldn’t laugh when she does this but it is so funny to see how excited she gets.
Ditsy is 100% clean both day and night and sleeps in her crate. Because Ditsy is so excitable and jumps up she would be better going to a home with older children
So come on who is going to be lucky enough to adopt this great pup??
give Helen a call and come fall in love with Dits
Angela

Ditsy has been fostering with us for nearly a week now and already seems part of the furniture (as well as on it a bit!!).
She loves a cuddle as you can see from the photos.
This little girl has so much to give and really wants to please.
She loves chasing her tail (much to Ozzies amusement) and frequently catches it!
Also loves chasing around in the garden with her toys.
For a five month old puppy, she is so good and has never attempted to chew anything other than her toy bone.
We have been trying to work out what she is crossed with and we think she could be a Boxer cross. Ditsy sleeps in her crate at night and happily wonders in and out of it during the day. A lovely little dog.

Jane and Ozzie x

Ditzy, 5 month old puppy, boxer cross (not sure what she is crossed with).
Really pretty girl, good with dogs and cats, loads of potential to bring on.
Going to make a superb dog, loads of energy and fun.
Knows a few commands already and clean.
Only arrived yesterday but already seems at home in Ozzie’s bed!

Gentry and Cara

Also two new dogs arrived today who were taken from a pound on the day they were due to be destroyed.

Gentry is a largish black and tan Rottweiler cross, a gentle boy who on being introduced to Jeff’s dogs immediately instigated a game with Charlie his Collie.
We estimate him to be about three years old. Photos to follow.

Cara a black and tan Labrador cross approx 2-3 years old who once again settled straight in at the rescue with the other dogs and is an affectionate girl.
Photos to follow.

Both these dogs have fantastic temperaments and did not deserve to die.

Jack and Lil

Jack and Lil want homes !!

progress update 15/8/10

Our names are Jack and Lil and we are two Jack Russell puppies looking for permanent loving homes.
At the moment we are fostering with Ozzie and his humans.
We are 9 months old, fully vaccinated and will be neutered.
Jane thinks we are really lovely and even Jonathan (who pretends he doesn’t like little dogs) says he has to admit we are very sweet!
It would be nice to go to a home together but we realise this may not be possible.
We have been at Ozzies house just over a week now and Jane has let us off our leads on a walk for a good run round.
We love this and do come back when she calls us.
If we don’t, Ozzie rounds us up like a sheep dog!!
We are not sheep and can’t understand why he thinks we are!
We are clean in the house and friendly with other dogs.
Please consider giving us a home and if you think you can, ring Helen at the rescue 01202 380467

Jack and Lil are 9 month old terrier puppies who are very friendly and like other dogs too.

Jagger (a.k.a Jake) and Chrissie

REHOMED

progress update 14/8/10

I have been with my new mum and dad for 5 weeks now, and i am having a great time, with my new friend Chrissie the border collie. She also comes from Helen’s. My name is jagger by the way. I was called jake, but my new mum and dad thought jagger suited me better.
I can run rings around Chrissie, but she puts up with me, and is nice to snuggle up to, when i get tired, which isen’t very often!
Before I came here i was with my foster dad Dave who nursed me back to health, because i had a nasty bout of kennel cough that i caught in ireland, with a temperature of 102 ! As you can see i am fine now and enjoying life so much. I have made several new doggy friends that i like to run and play with. I go swimming in the river, while Chrissie paddles, but i am looking forward to going to the beach.
I shall always be grateful to auntie Helen for bringing me over from ireland. life is good here.
Love jagger and Chrissie.

progress update 7/7/10

Jake has now found a home !!

progress update from Dave: 29/6/10

We still havent heard him bark! For a jack russell is this amazing
All he wants to do is sit on your lap or beside you on sofa sleeping.
Jake is eating and drinking well. He loves the few toys we got for him, jake goes mad for a ball.
He has a huge amount of energy when he is playing in the garden.

Jake does not know any commands!! So will need a lot of training but I am sure he will excel in treat training.
We can already tell he will not like to be left alone and loves human contact.
He is a true character who wants to play with his toys and then snuggle up on the sofa when he has tired his owner out!!
While out walking we have met other dogs which he has shown no aggression to or any interest in them!
He does walk well on the lead.

Thiis is Jake who came from Ireland a fortnight ago

REHOMED

Tess

Tess wants a home !!

Tess is 8-9 years old and a Collie mix who was left tied to a park bench.
This is her enjoying herself at Sandbanks beach she is a complete water baby and she gets on very well with dogs and people.
She is no trouble in the house settling down at night to sleep ,doesn’t mind being left for a few hours and is fantastic off the lead.
She really deserves a home that will love and appreciate her gentle nature.
