Buddy has now been rehomed !

progress update: 10th Apr 10

Today I went to Whitecliff with Helen to go swimming, unfortunately the tide was out and we had to walk a long way to the sea. I didn’t care as I was busy running after balls and Helen had brought a supply of sticks.

Helen said I was a good boy as I completely ignored all the footballs and even the wriggly dog that ran after my ball too, what a cheek !!

It was quite a while until the wriggly dog was collected by his friend but I was happy to share my balls with him. Now that I am allowed to go off the lead after my leg op I am calming down before I was just bursting with energy.

I have a new companion today a Cairn Terrier, she is okay but doesn’t want to play.

Today I went to the allotment with Helen who had packed my rawhide bone along with her sandwiches.

I would make someone a perfect allotment companion, I am well behaved ,amuse myself and only bark at people who look like they may steal the vegetables.

I think some of this sort of thing may have been going on as Helen’s Squash plants were nowhere to be seen but then of course the slugs could of taken them.

Helen was amazed at my weed killing abilities, she dug them out of the beds tossed them to me and I caught them and killed them by shaking them.

It was great fun and Helen was pleased as it meant she didn’t have to pick them up because they were already dead.

What a marvel I am !!

Tomorrow we are going to the beach to practise swimming it will help my leg muscles and I can kill sticks instead.

Hi, Buddy is my name and I have been at the rescue for quite a while.

I am bunking in with Stella and Jewel at Helen’s house.

I had a leg op a few weeks ago and the vet has said I am now in good shape and ready to go to a new home.

I like other dogs but wouldn’t mind a home where I can have all the attention.

I love my walks, these have been greatly restricted whilst my leg was healing but now I can go off the lead.

I have loads of catching up to do !!

I don’t mind spending a couple of hours on my own reclining on the furniture and don’t make a fuss about being left behind for a short time.

progress update: 31st Jan 10

Buddy has just had a little operation at the vets to sort out his poorly leg and what a model patient he has been! Nine stitches in his leg and not once has he tried to lick them. Hopefully the operation will correct an injury he sustained at some point prior to coming to the Rescue. The vet is now happy for Buddy to be re-homed during his recovery so having been fostering with Ozzie for nearly six weeks, Buddy is really ready to start a new life in a forever home.

Buddy learns very quickly and although he knows “sit” and “wait”, he would benefit greatly from further training. He does pull a little but not too bad with a harness. No problems off the lead, his recall is excellent. Buddy loves to snuggle up to Ozzie and absolutely hogs the fireplace!

Having a bit of a camera crisis at the moment but will forward some more photos as soon as its sorted!

progress update from The Ferguson family and Ozzie:  3rd Jan 10

Buddy is a very loveable little chap, about 8 months old.

He came to foster with us two days before Christmas and has been a very well behaved young man, only chews dog toys (unlike Ozzie who became very fond of chocolate coins in their wrappers!) and is clean.

He hasn’t been fazed by people coming and going and in fact didn’t bat an eyelid when Father Christmas visited!

He seems good with other dogs and brilliant off the lead.

Buddy loves a cuddle and has been lovely to snuggle up to while I’ve been a bit poorly.

We have taken Buddy into pubs/cafes and he settles.

He arrived with a limp in his front right leg which has stayed the same but doesn’t seem to affect him in any way.

He will make a lovely dog for anyone.
