Dorset Animal Workers Group<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Dorset Animal Workers Group is a rescue organisation local to the Poole \/ Bournemouth area run by Helen Sanders and a group of dedicated volunteers.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are a non-profit making group and we all give our time, open our houses up as doggie accommodation and offer our cars as doggie taxis freely.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will help all animals but mainly concentrate on dog rescue.
\nWe take in local dogs as well as those from rescues based in Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rescues in Ireland are struggling to cope with the number of strays they receive.<\/span><\/p>\n

We feel that if any dog, regardless of borders, needs help and if we have the space then we must help.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many 1000’s of dogs end up in council pounds as strays and if they are not claimed within 7-10 days they are destroyed.<\/span><\/p>\n

All our dogs are kept in home and family situations with fosterers who have very kindly offered their help. From here they are placed in new homes.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are always looking for good, responsible homes for our dogs, but prefer to re-home within a 30 mile radius.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every potential new home will be homechecked by one of our homecheckers who will be looking for a securely fenced garden.<\/span><\/p>\n

IMPORTANT :\u00a0 PLEASE NOTE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Since this website is now getting a lot of visitors from all over the country,<\/span><\/p>\n

( and some international ones too!)<\/span><\/p>\n

we need to stress the following important points:<\/span><\/p>\n

We will only rehome dogs within approx 30miles of the Bournemouth\/Poole area in order that we can ensure the continued well being of the dogs we rehome.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Also:<\/span><\/p>\n

We are NOT looking for just ANY home for these dogs.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

All potential homes will be assessed to try and ensure the best possible home to cater for the differing needs of each individual dog in our care.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

We would rather keep a dog for longer at the Rescue<\/span><\/p>\n

than send it to a home that may be potentially unsuitable for any reason.<\/span><\/p>\n
