We are really pleased to hear that Harley loves his new home!<\/p>\n

“Just to let you know that Harley has settled in so well.<\/p>\n

Buster adores him (Peter does as well)<\/p>\n

He really is a delightful chap and so loving.<\/p>\n

He found out how to use the dog door quickly and is out in the garden with Buster roaring round.<\/p>\n

We couldn’t have picked a better dog, thank you for letting us adopt him.<\/p>\n

progress update: 4th July<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harley’s shampoo and set day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today I needed to be clean for some mysterious reason that only Helen knew.
\nShe locked the other dogs out and filled a bucket with water which she then threw over me !
\nI didn’t understand why she would do this and felt it best not to co-operate with this strange behaviour.
\nThis resulted in me being tied to the taps whilst she lathered some smelly stuff into my coat.
\nHere at the rescue no one worries too much how dirty we get on walks so there is a lot of dirt in my coat.
\nI could hear Helen muttering that she didn’t know how she was ever going to get me clean and it was a job for the professionals.
\nIf Sue hadn’t moved to Australia she would of groomed me whilst Helen had a cuppa and kept her feet dry.
\nHelen’s feet were very wet after I had jumped about a bit.
\nEven after three scrubs my curly soft coat still had dirt in it,
\nthis comes from enjoying rolling in mud.
\nSue has banned Helen from ever cutting dog’s coats as she is not the best stylist with the scissors,
\nin spite of this she said the only way to tackle the job was to cut some of my gorgeous coat.
\nI was very patient and stood very still as she was rather close to my manhood.<\/p>\n

Eventually she said I would do, put a new collar on me with a new tag and put me in the car.<\/p>\n

She took me to a nice doggy hotel called White Topps where a lady was waiting to meet me.
\nShe also had a Wheaten Terrier called Buster and we like each other straight away.<\/p>\n

We went for a walk along the beach together and then Helen told me that I would have to leave her and be brave as I had a new home, but not to worry as I could come back if I am not happy.
\nI wasn’t sure at first and stuck close to her but now as you will see from my photo with my new pal that I am very pleased to be in my new home!<\/p>\n

HARLEY’S DIARY JUNE 14th<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been told that I am a big woolly bear and that Helen could just eat me up.<\/p>\n

I do hope that she doesn’t mean this in the way that I would like to eat cats!<\/p>\n

Dooley has been trying to teach me sky chasing and
\ngroaning but I am much more interested in chasing my ball.<\/p>\n

I have been told several times that I am an absolute dream out on a walk,<\/p>\n

I do try to be on my best behaviour and always come back when called.<\/p>\n

Sometimes though I see scary reflections in the window or hear
\na noise outside and then I can be very protective and run outside to
\ngrowl and charge the intruder.<\/p>\n

Helen says that I get spooked by strange
\nthings and as I don’t believe that humans know how
\nto look after themselves I feel I have to do this for them.<\/p>\n

She says that I will need a home that will work with me to get me over this and
\nas I am terrier and not a woolly bear I have a terrier mind set.<\/p>\n

Sometimes in my past people have not been too kind to me and have hit me,<\/p>\n

so if I hear a raised voice or a quick movement I still duck my
\nhead down and try to be invisible.<\/p>\n

I don’t do this as much as I used to
\nas Helen doesn’t believe in hitting dogs and hates cruelty.<\/p>\n

Harley is still awaiting a home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

He is a neutered male wheaten terrier approx 2-3yrs old<\/p>\n

He is very good natured and friendly,<\/p>\n

great fun and very playful,<\/p>\n

a lovely chap if occasionally a bit boisterous.<\/p>\n

Harley is very sociable when out, loves to chase a ball, meet new dogs and people.<\/p>\n

\n

He is the model of good behaviour when called.<\/p>\n

He’s not fond of swimming but loves to get his feet wet<\/p>\n

He is also very well mannered in the car.<\/p>\n

His blood test results were clear and he seems in
\nthe best of health!<\/p>\n
