progress update: 18th Aug<\/strong><\/p>\n

EDDIE WINS RESCUE DOG CATEGORY AT BEAMINSTER DOG SHOW !!<\/h2>\n

An update at last of Eddie….who is doing very well and is much admired.
\nI have been letting him off the lead for the past two weeks
\nand with the fresh cooked liver titbit treats, he comes back
\nwell…from other dogs who he loves to play with, and from the cows
\nwho he has been trying to make friends with but they do their best to
\nignore him….
\nHis speed staggers me when running. He is very
\nfriendly both at home and out and is learning quickly when to leave
\nother dogs alone and return to me.
\nI am lucky to have a ridge and
\nfields falling away, close to home…
\none photo shows Eddie up on the ridge with West Bay in the background.
\nAnother photo shows him waiting until the command to ‘take it’ for his dinner….he’s great
\nwith this.
\nBut the best photos of all taken today were at the Beaminster dog show,
\nEddie entered into the ‘Rescue Dog’ catagory and
\nchosen and presented with first prize by Martin Clunes…<\/p>\n

He is proving a wonderful pet, and now enterering into the terrible
\nteen years and can be a bit wilful with retrieving and sometimes
\nchewing anything and everything he can get his paws\/mouth on to….
\nI expected this and no bit deal if a tad frustrating at times…a few
\nthings I’d have rather not had chewed but no matter we really are
\ngetting there.
\nThe cat and he are better and he wants to make friends
\nbut she won’t allow it….
\nAll in all I feel I am lucky to have Eddie
\nand he is much admired…<\/p>\n

progress update: 9th July<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hi Helen, just a few photos taken during a brief spell when it wasn’t raining.
\nEddie is a sweet thing and follows me around.
\nHe loves a settee!! but obeys ‘down’.
\nAs yet he does not obey ‘come’ but it’s early days and I look forward to being able to trust him off the lead.
\nHe loves the garden and seems to know his way around inside and out.
\nMy cat is living upstairs at the moment and though Eddie is keen to
\nmeet her, he’s a bit too enthusiastic.
\nShe has been very used to my long term other dog who died 5 years ago,
\nand accepted the brief period I had the Beardie recently with not a backward glance….but
\nEddie she hisses and spits so we will need to take our time.
\nI think she will come to terms with him living here eventually and indeed
\nhopefully he will dutifully not chase her.
\nI am going along to a puppy dog class this week without Eddie,
\nto have a look with a view to starting next week.
\nI will keep you posted.<\/p>\n
