Out of the blue New Milton Town Council have decided that they will,
\nwith no consultation or discussion, not be renewing our Lease for the
\nDog House on Long Meadow when it expires at the end of Jan 2012. This
\nis on the grounds that the Dog House is and eyesore. We have been
\nfor 10 1\/2 years and have maintained every aspect of the
\nbuilding so that it looks better now than it did then. So why!??<\/p>\n
There is a meeting of the Finance & General Purposes Committee on
\nTuesday 19th July at the Town Hall at 7.30 at which we have 3 mins to
\nstate our case.<\/p>\n
So we need your active support now by signing our online petition at
\nwww.friendlydogs.com and writing a letter of support and
\nrecommendation (sample letter attached) either directly to Graham
\nFlexman, Town Clerk, NM Town
\nCouncil, The Town Hall, 2 Ashley Road, New Milton, Hants, BH25 6AS, or
\nsending it to me Angela Horsley 42 Montagu Road, Highcliffe, BH23 5JX
\nto take to the meeting. We suggest if you post the letter you get
\nproof of postage.<\/p>\n
It is important to convey to the Council that we are part of the
\ncommunity, providing education, training and working with other local
\ncharitable groups for the good of the community.<\/p>\n
If this is allowed to go ahead it will be the end of the Friendly Dog
\nClub and the unique service that we provide within Dorset & Hampshire.
\nThe help and advise we give to dog owners and the charitable events
\nthat we run for Rest Homes, Churches, Lions & Rotary will all be lost
\nforever.<\/p>\n
We need your immediate active support to save our Club.<\/p>\n
