{"id":9425,"date":"2014-03-23T16:45:18","date_gmt":"2014-03-23T15:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sithean.com\/dawgdogs\/?p=9425"},"modified":"2014-03-27T16:47:39","modified_gmt":"2014-03-27T15:47:39","slug":"mystery-dog-illness-new-forest-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sithean.com\/dawgdogs\/mystery-dog-illness-new-forest-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Mystery Dog Illness New Forest update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">NFDOG and Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists are very grateful for all the donations (totalling over \u00a310,000 now!)\u00a0they have been receiving for the aim of furthering research into &#8216;Alabama Rot&#8217;.<br \/>\nTwo projects have already been undertaken and although nothing positive has been detected, a few more possibilities have been ruled out.\u00a0 Urine toxicology tests have been carried out on a number of sick dogs in an attempt to identify a toxin that may have been ingested, but nothing definite was discovered.<br \/>\nA very kind and grieving family agreed to a full post mortem on a dog they had sadly lost, hoping that this would help the cause.\u00a0 The knowledge base continues to be built.<br \/>\nNFDOG Chairman, Heather Gould, said &#8220;We are not expecting any exciting break throughs in the medium term, but believe that every test that rules something out is a small step forward.\u00a0 The research fund is open to any vet who wants to research something specific about the illness and applications should be made via Anderson Moores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Forestry Commission have asked for our help to make more information widely available to the public.
