Please be vigilant

From: New Forest Dog Owners Group

Please be vigilant in checking your dogs thoroughly for sores as there has been a local suspected case of CRGV (Alabama Rot).
Until pathology results come back, this will not be confirmed as CRGV.
Please see your vet ASAP if you notice anything unusual.

Alabama Rot update

Latest update on Alabama Rot from Anderson Moores…
“29th January 2015 update
There have been six further confirmed cases of cutaneous and renal glomerular vasculopathy (CRGV) over the past few weeks (Hampshire, Greater London, Dorset, Berkshire, Kent and East Sussex). An additional case treated at Anderson Moores was considered highly likely to have had CRGV and fortunately survived, meaning that a definitive diagnosis was not made (since this requires post mortem testing).
The Forestry Commission are no longer hosting a table with the exact geographical location of cases. At this stage we do not know for certain if there is an environmental trigger for CRGV. Indeed, if there is an environmental trigger we do not know when, in relation to the development of clinical signs, this occurs (e.g. environmental exposure could occur one day, one week, or one month before clinical signs develop). Any information posted about geographical location may therefore not be that relevant given dogs are often walked in different areas. Updates and further information will continue to be posted on this webpage with the broad geographical location of cases.”

Until 31st December : Thank you LUSH !!

A huge thank you to all the lovely people at Lush Bournemouth for the money raised from the sales of Charity Pots on the weekend.
They are still collecting at the shop in Bournemouth up to the 31st December blankets, toys and food for the Rescue.
Please do pop in to see them.

Happy Monday lovelies. We have some news regarding our Charity Pot party.
Thanks to all of our generous customers, we managed to raise a massive £360 for DAWGdogs last weekend.
Also, a big congratulations to Maddie Luckham!
Thank you all for being so generous and helping such a brilliant, local organisation.
Love all the team at LUSH Bournemouth x

LUSH Charity Pot for DAWGdogs this weekend!!

LUSH will be hosting a Charity Pot Party this weekend with DAWGdogs.

All proceeds from any sale of Charity Pot* (minus VAT) will provide funding towards the running costs for such a fantastic organisation working tirelessly to find new homes for rescue dogs.

Money raised will be contributing towards the construction of some brand new living quarters for dogs awaiting to be homed.

There will be face painting on hand, doggy treats as well as information galore for anyone considering re-homing.

Hope to see you there, Jaime & Hazel x

*Please note that money raised through Charity Pot for DAWG dogs is only for these two days (22nd & 23rd November).

New Forest Dog Owners Group warning

Warning

One of our members has spotted cooked chicken carcasses in undergrowth in Highland Water Enclosure near Minstead.
Please be aware that cooked bones can splinter in the dog’s mouth, throat, and digestive linings causing serious injury and even death.
Also, please be extra vigilant in checking your dogs over for sores now, cases of CRGV (Alabama Rot) have started in October for the last two years.

Please bring your DAWGdogs !!

As many of you know, Eileen in Ireland has worked endlessly saving the lives of many dogs who otherwise would have been put to sleep.

Eileen has come over this weekend from Ireland especially for the DAWG Dog Annual Dog Show and would absolutely love to see as many of the Irish dogs as possible.

If you own one of these Irish dogs, it would be very much appreciated if you could bring them along to the show on Sunday for Eileen to meet.  This would mean a great deal to her.

Thank you so much

Helen

Please take a moment to help the Oldies Club

The Oldies Club have often helped out DAWGdogs by featuring some of our older dogs needing homes on their website.
It would be nice to return the favour by getting as many people as possible to vote for them please;-

We are taking part in the Big Break for Charity and need lots more votes to hopefully push us into second or possibly even first place in the contest, and help us win up to £2,000 for the dogs in the care of the Oldies Club rescue. I hope that you will have a spare minute to vote for us here:

https://www.directdebit.co.uk/DirectDebitPromotions/BigBreak2014/Pages/CauseDetail.aspx?CauseId=616

You can also vote by texting BIG BREAK 0616 to 78866

If you could spread the word amongst your friends and colleagues too, that would be wonderful and very much appreciated.
Thank you!

Kind regards
Jo
