DAWGdogs Rescue is a non-profit organisation staffed by volunteers.
Every penny raised goes towards the high costs improving the lives of as many dogs as we are able to save.
Our veterinary bills alone run into many thousands of pounds each year, and the costs of feeding, microchipping, sheltering and transporting those in our care are ever rising.
Please make the DAWGdogs a donation if you can.
You can securely make an online donation using the Paypal button below.
To donate in other ways,
please ring Helen on 01202 380467 for more details!
Sithean.com has proudly registered & hosted DAWGdogs.net since 2008 and regularly keeps the website updated pro bono ( pro Bonio?).
No Rescue funds have ever been used on or for this website.
Many rescued dogs enjoy seeing photos of themselves on the internet but all of them prefer dinner when offered a straight choice.
Rescuers, rescue supporters, and volunteers do not walk on water.
We don't wear capes and tights or leap tall buildings.
We aren't better than anyone else, but we do pursue a cause that we believe makes us better than we were before we started.
We make mistakes; we feel we can't do enough; we go broke; we have too many dogs at home; we rant out of frustration; we lose our tempers and get snappy; we have to reject people sometimes for the good of a dog.
We are not always likeable.
What we do is draining, emotionally, financially, and physically.
Please bear with us and forgive us our flaws, because we are doing work that's bigger than we are.

Costa’s person had to let her go due to personal circumstances.
Costa is 6 years old.
She has lived with children, horses and other dogs.
Costa is fostering with Geoff and has settled in very well with him and his other dogs.
She is a thoroughly sweet girl
Every foster home we have means another dog we can save.
We are looking for people who have homes with well enclosed gardens and who are at home for most of the day.
The dogs that we care for are all different, the only thing they all have in common is that they all deserve a better life!
Many of the dogs will be in poor condition on arrival.
Some are underweight, others may have skin complaints or injuries, some will have been very badly treated and spent a life living in fear of the next blow.
This is where the foster homes come in. It is their job to build the dogs up, returning them to a a good state of health, and above all the foster home will need to teach the dogs that not all people are bad!
Some of the dogs have never lived in family homes and therefore they need to be taught some manners, for example, shoes are not for teething on, settees are not for sleeping on, gardens are not for digging in and it is not acceptable to help themselves from the fridge or table.
On arrival all dogs are stressed, sometimes from a long journey, and inevitably they will get upset tummies so you may feel as though you are spending all day with a mop in your hand!!
All food, bedding and vets expenses are paid for by D.A.W.G, so it will not stretch your finances, however it may stretch your patience!! It also helps to have a car to collect the dogs and also to take the dogs to our vet when needed.
Fostering can be messy, upsetting and hard work, but the feeling you get from knowing you have made a real difference makes it all worthwhile.
If you are unable to foster a dog full time but are able to on the weekends,
we always have dogs that would appreciate a weekend of TLC and undivided attention !
These photos are to assist the fundraising we love to do for local causes DAWG Dog Rescue and The Bournemouth Soup Run.
We have a charity stand at the shop dedicated to helping them both, all commission we make from the sales on this stand is shared between the two.
We thought it would be a good idea to post some photos of the lovely items we sell.
We have a great range of high quality bespoke locally handmade oak gifts , Big Love from Bournemouth greetings cards and the amazing Salisbury hospital ‘My Trusty Sunflower’ cream products.
We have samples of the personalised items on display at the shop.
The craftsmanship of the oak gifts is superb, purchasers to date have been exceptionally impressed, me included !
