Mabel

Mabel has now found a home !!

progress update: 25/05/2022

Last Saturday Mabel had a day out with Sarah who had volunteered to walk and do training with Mabel.
Mabel had a lovely day out walking along the beach and back and then time back at Sarah’s. Even with just a day of positive training Mabel being a bright and intelligent girl soon picked it up.

Mabel had her first off lead walk across the heath today.
With Pippin to guide her back to me she came when he did when called and soon after came when called on her own volition.
She met other dogs and was friendly towards them and eager to say hello.

Mabel has come on well and is mixing with the dogs here at the Rescue.
She walks past other dogs without barking now on her walks.
She had a short spell off lead and came back but still needs a bit more practise with recall.
She has plenty of energy and loves to greet visitors to the house.
She was recently spayed – this photo shows her recovering and sporting a cheerful buster collar.

Mabel arrived from a dog pound a couple of weeks ago.
She is full of life and loves people though not too sure cats would be on her list of friends.
She does need some training to approach dogs without barking to announce her arrival and yesterday she started this and did very well.
She picked up quickly that “No ” meant it is okay and nothing to be anxious about.
Soon she was walking past Frank without barking at all.
Her foster Mum is continuing to work on her with this.
Mabel is around 4 years or so of age.

Frank

NOW REHOMED !!

progress update: 25/05/2022

Hi Helen just to update you on my Frank.
He is so loving and affectionate and wants to cuddle up all the time.
He’s still not keen on walking out though, every sound startles him.
He’s terrified of any type of stick, ie walking sticks etc.
He loves my 2 friends here and will happily visit them with me.
He knows to go to the back door and will walk around the gardens but sometimes his tail is between his legs and ears back, all he wants is to go home again.
He still doesn’t play but he does like to roll around a ball with treats put through the holes.
He is a dear little soul.
I really think something in his previous life traumatised him but he will never have another horrid day in his life.
Given up with the car for now as he became hysterical. It’s early days.
He trusts and loves me so I’m sure with patience and time he will start to enjoy things more.
He loves my daughter and grandchildren.
Wags his tail and likes his tummy rubbed.

Lyla

Lyla has now found a home !!

progress update: 1/05/22
Lyla has come on well so far in the time that she has been in her foster home.
She is now crate trained, loves car rides and playing with other dogs.
Her foster parents have done so much with her and love her.
If they could have a dog permanently they would adopt her in a trice.
She met a couple of older children out on her walk and she loved saying hello to them.
No more can be said about her than that she is a really great dog and whosever adopts her will be the lucky one.
She was loved by all at our vets when she went in to be neutered recently.

progress update: 29/03/22
We’ve had a lovely day with Lyla.
We took her to the training area at Upton Country Park so that she could run off the lead.
She met a couple of dogs in the area and played really well with them both.
She was shattered afterwards.
She was also quite relaxed in the car.

Lyla arrived today from a dog pound.
She is very friendly and has settled in remarkable quickly in her foster home.
While she was waiting to for her foster Dad to pick her up she met another dog and was very pleased to say Hello
More to follow as she settles in

Tetley

REHOMED!!

progress update: 17/05/2022

We received this message from the couple that adopted Tetley and it just goes to show what a little patience and training can achieve.
Tetley was not good with the cats when he first went to his new home.

Hi Helen. I thought I’d send you some pictures of Tetley taken today on his 2nd Gotcha day.
He brings us so much joy.
We love him so much.
So do the cats. X

Rupert

Rupert has now found a home !!

progress update: 31/3/22

Rupert is doing very well, in fact he is so good he spent some time off lead in the woods.
He is a real pleasure to be with and a real funny guy.
Lucy seems happy with him and they are enjoying sniffing and checking things out together.

Rupert arrived yesterday.
He was quite timid on arrival but has soon come out of his shell and greeted Liane’s friend with much enthusiasm when he paid a visit.
Rupert is between 6 to 9 months old.
He has made himself right at home
