Chester (a.k.a Homer)

REHOMED !!

progress update: 18/04/2018

Hi Helen I don’t know if you remember us but this is Chester (previously Homer) who we adopted 5 years ago from you.
He is an old man nowadays but is fit and well and the light of my life (together with our beagle of course!)
He was fostered by Geoff when we got him all that time ago.
Good to see you are still doing a wonderful job

Moon

Moon has now found a home !!

Moon is a young Rough Coated Lurcher who gets on with dogs , children , horses and cats.
Unfortunately, Moon is not good with the free roaming cattle in the New Forest home that we placed him in last year.
Even though he was very much loved and very reluctantly returned to us it was the sensible decision to take..
Moon needs a home with another dog as he is used to the company of his own kind.

Dusky

Dusky has now found a home !!

Dusky arrived on Monday, another unclaimed stray.
She is thin and needs to fatten up which she will do so with the help of the extra meals she is being given.
When I spoke to her fosterer Pauline today to find out how she has settled in with her, I was told very well and at that moment in time sprawled across Pauline’s lap.
She is about the size in height of a Collie and six years old.
She has got on very well with the dogs she has met.
She is quiet at night and tomorrow will be left for a short time to see how she copes with being alone.
Probably, like most Lurcher types she will have a sleep.

Dirk ( a.k.a Milo )

REHOMED !!

progress update: 16/03/2018

Hi DAWG dogs, I wanted to send a short update on Dirk (aka Milo).
He joined our family roughly 2 years ago.
During this time he has stolen the hearts of all that meet him and has taught our other JRT how to play and be more independent.
Thank you for bringing him into our lives, he is so very loved xx

Freya

REHOMED !!

progress update: 16/03/2018

It’s three years today since we brought this nutter home adopted from DAWG,
she’s the nuttiest, most loveable fluff bag and we are so happy to have her as part of our family.
Here is Freya asleep on Bella (one of our 5 fluffbags).
Freya was found in terrible condition having been over bred from and treated appallingly.
She shows us how grateful she is every day, bless her

Tamber

Tamber has now found a home !!

Tamber is settling in well in her foster home.
She is a young girl who has got on well with the dogs she has met on her walks and also the people too.
She can be a little shy at first but soon overcomes this.
She was very dirty, smelly and matted when she came to us and Pauline her foster mum has groomed, bathed and trimmed her and she looks a different dog now.
She is the same size as a Springer Spaniel.

Tila (a.k.a Tina)

Tina has now found a home !!

progress update: 13/03/2018

Hi Helen! Just a quick note to first of all say a big “thank you” for letting us adopt Tina.
We are calling her “Tila” now. Makes her more like “our dog”.
She is just the most perfect of companions and already has her own fan club.
She has been on the beach, up St Catherine’s Hill, round to friends’ houses and been so beautifully behaved.
It’s like she has been here forever.
She’s snuggled up in her new bed (the new bed she has in the lounge, not the new bed she has for the kitchen!!!! hahahahaha).
We love her to bits. xx

Tina is a Whippet cross who is 9 years old.
Tina is good with other dogs and excellent off the lead.
She is a quiet girl and likes nothing better than to curl up in a comfy bed after her walk – usually with either Bono or Holly nestled in next to her.
She is mothering Bono at the moment who has a bad eye.

Emmie

Emmie has now found a home !!

Emmie is a Labrador who has been used for breeding – poor girl.
She was found straying and is a little nervous of men at first but she is learning that not all men are bad.
Her coat was not in a great state with most of the hair on her back missing due to having fleas so long which she has been treated for.
After a week of bathing in a special shampoo for this her coat is growing back.

Bono

Bono has now found a home !!

Bono is a sweet little man that just wants to cuddle up on your lap and be with you,
he needs a bit of encouragement when outside on the lead but he is young as will learn well,
he will make any family very happy and will love them forever.
He is a year old Chihuahua cross Jack Russel and quite tiny.
He gets on very well with all sizes of dogs.
Sam the Collie took him under his wing when Bono arrived into the Rescue and the two of them would cuddle up together.
