Hope (a.k.a Orina) and Reba (a.k.a. Erina)

REHOMED !!

progress update: 21/7/15

I have had Hope for just over 2 years now, for the people who will remember her and very kindly donated to wards her operations I’d like to let you know, she is doing very well, vet said that if she reached another year, she would be in the clear, a year was February, and she is very well, quite often naughty as she has been spoilt, but we love her very much!!

progress update: 17/11/13

We have now reached the final total to pay for Hope’s treatment thanks to all who generously donated.
Thank you to Claire at The Candle Jar in Winton, Marilyn who sold items on line and held Coffee mornings, Nicky and Kayleigh who fund raised, Afrivets who has a collection pot, The Purbeck Gazette who put an appeal in their paper and all who sent cheques in and Claire who did car boots.

Hope has gone from strength to strength and now enjoys being a normal naughty young puppy and has the chance of a new life.

Thank you from Hope and all at Dawgdogs.

Hope 10

We have now reached a grand total of £1,710.92 towards Hope’s vet bill for her treatment.
Hope continues to do well in her recovery.
Here she is after a swim in the river.
The hair on her head is growing back and she is starting to look like her old self again.

Hope on her first outing out after her stitches were removed.
She came to the Branksome Rec dog show and joined the other Dawgdogs there.

progress update: 26/7/13

Hope had her check up today with Ross her vet at the specialists.
He is pleased with her progress and took the stitches out.
He hopes that she will be clear of any other tumours developing elsewhere in her body but only time will tell with this.
She had her first walk off the lead today since the operation and here she is enjoying herself with the other dogs at the rescue.

We still need to raise the a major part of what her treatment has cost.
Thank you to all of you that have donated so far to this lovely girl’s treatment.

progress update: 25/7/13

Hope is recovering well from her operation and is to see her Cancer Specialist on Friday for check up.
We have good news today, the tumour is benign and she can go onto to live a happy and long life.
Claire who she lives with now will be glad when her stitches are out and she can go for a long walk to run off all the energy that she has built up during confinement.
Hope has a long way to go yet before she is fully recovered.
She has stitches inside her mouth as well as outside and to prevent her splitting these has her food rolled into a ball so she can suck it into her mouth.
The tumour was in her jaw and had spread to her eye bone luckily she has kept the sight in that eye thanks to Ross her vet at Cave Specialists whose veterinary skill in removing all the tumour was exceptional.

Hope is now in recovery and to see the Cancer Specialist on Monday for her check up.
So far we have raised donations totalling £210.00 towards her £2.600 vet bill.
Wes has finished his mammoth ride to the Highlands of Scotland to raise sponsorship for the operation and as soon as he has had time to settle in back at home he will send photos and a diary of his trip.
If you would like a sponsorship form please email us at the rescue and we will send you one.

progress update on Orina : 20/7/13

ORINA HAS NOW BEEN RE-NAMED ‘HOPE’

Orina one of the two Collie puppies has a benign tumour which is also growing very fast.
Up to now we have been consulting specialists and the end result of this is that Helen is to drive her down to Taunton to a Cancer Specialist who will determine if this tumour can be removed.
If so, we intend to fundraise the money to pay for the operation.
After a lot of thinking and heart searching it has been decided that as she is so lively in spite of the lump in her mouth she has such a love of life that we feel it is worth giving her a chance.
Wesley Burrage is cycling all the way to the the Scottish Highlands and back to Bournemouth to raise money for her and he will be keeping a diary and taking photos as he goes which we will post when he returns.
Can anyone ask their friends and family to sponsor him and we will send out a sponsorship form.

You can also make a donation via the Paypal button on right-hand side of the website

These two little scamps arrived on Monday.
They are twelve weeks old, typical Collie puppies full of energy and mischief.
Poor things were kept in a small outbuilding with their Mum and another dog and were never allowed out into the sunshine.
Orina arrived with a lump on her face from an infection she must have had for at least two weeks, poor thing must have been in pain as it was left untreated.

We have two 9 week old puppies arriving to us on Monday.

They are Collie types and we will post photos and information on them when we have them here with us.
