Douglas

Douglas has now found a home !!

progress update: 16/5/15

Hi Helen,

Just thought we’d drop you an email and let you know how things are going with Douglas.
We really couldn’t ask for a better dog.
His walking on the lead is improving once he gets over the initial excitement, and off the lead he never strays more than 15 metres away.
Seems completely house trained, as no accidents so far, and has already learnt how to tell us if he wants to go outside.
He plays with all his toys nicely, and hasn’t shown any destructive behaviour apart from with sticks!
He doesn’t beg when we are eating, isn’t bothered by noise or other dogs outside the window.
We could go on and on.
Feel free to come and visit at the pub whenever you like

Andy

Douglas is a 9 month old German Shepherd cross Collie and a complete soft touch.
He loves all dogs and we believe he may have lived with children.
On his first walk off the lead the Collie part of him said “Ruuuuuuuuuun and play ” and the German Shepherd part said ” Go back, go back you haven’t seen Helen for at least a minute, you need to check she is still there ”
As you can guess from this Douglas is very good off the lead.
He sort of lopes along after the others with his ears upright and meeting in the middle and flopping from side to side as he runs,
He is a fantastic dog, so friendly with everyone he meets.
He needs training mind, not to jump up and certainly not to tow you down the path behind him in his enthusiasm to get out for his walk.
Holly and Poppy the Collies keep him entertained by each of them running for balls in completely opposite directions, so he has to run from one to the other to chase them both at the same time.
