progress update on Jack 27/8/17

We adopted Jack aka Nipper aka Tyler 7 1/2 years ago, today walking at Avon Heath we met Maddie who turned out to be Jack’s sister, how amazing is that !!
Hope to make the show in September maybe we will meet more of his siblings.

progress update on Buster 27/7/10

Buster is still gaining confidence although he is still unsure of people but after seeing someone a couple of times, he is fine with them.

We took the dogs down to the beach which he was a bit unsure of (it was really busy) but once he was off the lead, he was in his element :)

All the pups have now been rehomed !!

Buster is 6 months old , he is a quiet, gentle chap who loves playing with our other dogs, and going out for his walks.

He has settled happily into his foster home, he loves lots of cuddles, and is no trouble.

He does get nervous when people visit, and when visiting or walked in busier places, but this is improving.

Maddie, Emmie, Nippa and Peppa have now found homes !!!

All pups  are doing well and all growing in confidence, they are all such characters.

Buster is getting very confident and comes for a cuddle now, he likes comfort and makes himself very at home.  However not keen on going  walkies on the lead, but walks back home very fast and happily.

Nippa is also very confident and loves his cuddles, he is very nosey and likes to know what is going on,  he is starting to enjoy his walks.

Emmie bless her is still trying very hard to trust us, but we are making progress.  She is  very bright, and happy to have her cuddles now. However going on the lead is a great trauma for her, so we have abanded walkies for a now.

They all love playing chase in the garden with Meg and are having great fun in the snow.
They are happy to go in and out of their crate , and  getting used to clicker training  they sit,  go down and go to bed when asked, just starting on the leave command.

Maddie has now found a home !!!

progress update from Carol and Steve: 5th Dec 09
Hi Helen

We are getting more confident every day, but are still nervous when we come out of our bed,
but we are getting used to it, and we are not worried about all the different noises.
We eat all our food up, we sit and go down for our special treats and we are excellent at night.
The best thing is playing with our toys and new friend Meg, thats really exciting.
We are no trouble we just need lots of time, patience and cuddles.

Brown one is a girl and she is called Emmie, black ones are boys called Nipper and Buster.
They are coming on well but the girl is still nervous and will need more time to settle before going to a home.

progress update on Peppa and Maddie from Nicky and Kevin: 28th Nov 09

Hi Helen,
It has been over a week since two terrified pups and a very scared young Milly arrived at our house.
They spent the first four days hiding and cowering in any corner they could find but now they are getting into being normal, happy puppies
They have been playing the brick game and have mastered collecting all the food treats .
Peppa with the distinctive patterened nose is so gentle and loving she is completely clean.
We have only had one accident from Peppa she is gorgeous but still needs some tlc .
Maddie is still nervous she is still working on trusting us completely,
she also has a lovely nature and loves playing with the other dogs.
Millie has come on in leaps and bounds and has been a joy to have.
Millie has loved her walks and loves a cuddle she is still very scared of noises and the lead,
she loves playing with our Izzie .

Four of the five 12 week old Collie mix pups

Their history:
In the spring of 2009 a quiet, shy Collie dog wandered through the fields adjacent to an 81 year old lady’s house.
She began leaving some food near her house for the dog, who would come and feed in the late night. After a number of months the dog became confident enough for human contact.
It was then that she realised that she had to trust as she had a litter of pups that needed more food than she could provide herself. It was over another month before she arrived with her five “Forest Puppies”. Eileen the 81 year old has continued to look after the puppies up to the time they were collected and brought over from Ireland to the Rescue.

However they have grown fast and are coming on well in their foster home.
The puppies mother has been named Sitka as in Sitka Spruce after the trees in the forest where she gave birth and cared for her young for 2-3 months. Sitka has remained with Eileen and they will care for each other.
