Hello everyone, Lucky here,to say I think I’m staying here in Ireland after all.
I’m quite an old lady,& my back legs still aren’t great, & I’ve settled in so well here, that Helen & my foster mum think it would be best if I stayed over here.
Thank you ever so much everyone for offering me a home, you are all soooo lovely, but I’m really not up to moving on again, she has bought me a memory foam bed, & I sleep by the fire at night now.

This is Lucky, she is like a dwarf collie, about the size of a corgi, with little dumpy legs, she looks a bit of a mess at the moment, but she’s having a major make over, & a bath, next week, & the bare patch on her back is growing hair again,

Poor dog has had nine years solitary confinement tied in a dark shed, & still has a scar round her neck from the rope as a momento., she’s extremely quiet, & just wants to be near you for reassurance & a rub, bless her my heart went out to her to think she woke every morning knowing she was just going to have to stand all day in that shed.

  1. My eyes instantly filled up reading her story. She deserves so much more bless her. Happy times ahead Lucky.x

  2. Poor darling girl. How is she with other dogs and children? Think I might be able to work on this one with Bob….

  3. Bless her heart! Why would anyone do that! What is the point in having a dog if you’re just going to leave it in a shed the whole of its life! I just don’t get it – I love being with my dog making her life as fulfilled and happy as I possibly can.

  4. Luckys foster mum here, with a quick update, hope that’s ok Helen .
She is really well after being spayed,a new dog with a good appetite now,& she won’t need ongoing medication.
She’s a dear sweet dog, & follows me everywhere, she’s house trained now & her back legs are getting stronger, the muscles need building up after standing still for all those years,so she isn’t able for walks yet, she is brilliant with all my oldie dogs, & the cats, but she’d love to chase the ducks if she got a chance,

  5. Lucky told me she is rearing to come over to the UK now, because she’s had a rotten life in Ireland, & she’s heard me tell of the lovely people over there, & how dogs don’t get tied up & are actually allowed in the house. .
She’s a new dog. trotting with her tail up & wagging, & I get puppy like scampers when I come down in the morning, she’s house trained herself, & doesn’t mind in the least sleeping on her bean bag in the conservatory at night.

  6. Ah, bless her. Lets hope she’s here and in a home soon. (Remember Helen I’m one of those on the long list…)

  7. Hi, I am interested in adopting Lucky.Could you tell me if she’s still looking for a home please? Regards Chris

  8. Hello,
Is Lucky still requiring a new home? I rang you when you first mentioned Lucky on your website.
    Julia.

  9. We would also like to offer the lovely Lucky a home, she would make a good friend for Boycie our eight year old staffy. He is a friendly dog and loves the company of other dogs, sadly we lost our Lurcher a while back,

Looks as though we are way down the list but we can hope. We live in Weston super Mare Kind Regards Mary

  10. Jist a quick update on Lucky, who thinks she must never be coming over bless her.
She has a small op booked for tomorrow, to clean up her neck where the rope had cut in, & to have a small haematoma removed, so she really will be ready to come over in about another 2/3 weeks.
She is so loving being a house dog,& it’s been a joy for me to see her greet me like a puppy in the morning, scampering around ther garden.

  11. Poor girl…she hasn’t been very lucky has she? Bless her. Good to know that she is in safe caring hands and will get her forever home soon.
