Paddy

REHOMED

progress update: 21/4/12

Hi Helen
We realised the other day that it has been some time since we’ve been in touch to update you on Paddy.
Well, all is going well and he was signed off by Tom for his leg about a month or so ago.

Since then we’ve had lots of lovely time together walking in the woods and forest, cuddles at home and (would you believe) paw massage from Mike!

We did however take him to the vet (locally) today due to what looked like some little pustules in his ‘nether regions’.
The vet discovered that stitches had been left in from when he was neutered and there was an infection as a result.
Indeed, he discovered that only one testicle had been removed.
I realise that Paddy was neutered before coming over from Ireland but thought I should just let you know.
Poor thing, it has been irritating him for a while and we thought at first he was just eager with his washing and attention in that area!!
The other day we discovered the source of his irritation.
We have some antibiotics for him now so it should clear up soon.

That said, Paddy has remained calm and such a lovely natured dog with his confidence growing gradually each day.
He went on his first holiday with us last week to the Isle of Wight! What a lovely time we had.
I’ve attached some photos for you (please share with Tanya or the DAWGS site if you wish).
All in all, we love him lots! Nina, Mike and Tobias

progress update: 3/12/11

Hi Helen

Just wanted to keep you updated on Paddy.
We collected him from Tanya on Friday evening and he travelled well to our home and although a little timid at first is now settling in so well!

We all love him and he is such a gorgeous little chappie.
He has slept well every night (although didn’t venture into his new bed until Saturday night) and has had a couple of short walks in the woods near our house.
His leg seems to be on the mend but (as Tanya also noted) seems a bit achey if he has been lying on it.
He’s due to see Tom tomorrow though for a check up.

All in all, it feels like we’ve had him longer than just a few days and he seems more relaxed and confident as the hours go by. Still all early days but so far everything is going very well.
He’s a dream to take for a walk, hardly any pulling and waits/walks nicely.

I’ve attached some photos for you so you can see him with Tobias (our little boy).

We’ll keep in touch, best wishes, Nina, Mike & Tobias

progress update

Hi Helen,

This is the gorgeous Paddy.

He has settled in really well considering all the noise and disruption (I have the builders in!).
He gets on well with my other dog and has taken the children’s constant petting in his stride! Such a laid back little man!
He is a little nervous of men but soon comes around when he realises that they are no threat to him.
My cats are only daring to enter the house once the builders have left for the day but so far Paddy has shown little interest in them.

Will update again when some form of normality has returned to my house! (Or at least once the drilling has stopped!)

Thanks,
Tanya

Hi, I also arrived this week, lovely Eileen saved me and sent me to stay with Helen.
I am staying with Tanya and her family.
I am a bit of a mix up with terrier in me somewhere can’t remember where though.
I am ignoring the cats and quite like the little humans.
I have a sore leg and have been to the vet today should be feeling better soon.
I am to rest it for a week so Tanya has been serving me toast and tea in bed each morning.
This is the life.

Paddy has now found a home !!
