Hatcher ( a.k.a 'Fred')

progress update: 18th Jan 09
There have been many enquires about Hatcher but we are pleased to report that he has now found an ideal home with another basset hound called Maisy and her family !!

Hatcher ( previously known as Fred.)
I am a year old Basset Hound and so far I have had two homes and would like a forever home.
Helen says that I am a bit of a character,a little like the famous Dooley who Helen liked very much.
I don’t know who Dooley is as he went off to a new home today before I arrived, I guess my job is to keep her amused with my bombastic antics as he did.
Whilst Helen was trying to clean up the back today I amused her by running up and down splashing her with water and then I helped to spread the leaves about which she had just swept up.Helen gave me a toy which I barked at and pounced onĀ  to kill it.
I need to learn not to bark when I want attention and Helen is quickly teaching me that this is not acceptable behaviour.
She said Dooley would of sorted this out far quicker than she can.
Dooley sounds quite interesting.
Because I am a Basset Hound I need to go to a home that knows I can be stubborn and also that my hearing suddenly turns off when I am interested in a juicy smell.
I love other dogs and Helen thinks that I will be fine with children.
I do need to learn that I cannot jump up at them but the people at the Rescue say this is just puppy behaviour and not a diffcult problem.
I just get so excited that I forget myself sometimes.
