Dotty

progress update: 13th Dec 09

Dotty has now been rehomed !!

progress update from Jackie: 11th Nov 09

Hiya just a few lines about Dotty.

She’s a Doberman/Collie cross of about 19 weeks.

Her previous owners didn’t want her!! I can’t imagine why as she’s a real sweetie.

She responds well to training although her recall can be a bit hit or miss but she’s not too difficult to catch.

Being so young she is very active for short periods but hasn’t the stamina to keep going for too long and just curls up for a sleep.

She gets on well with our dog Basil and plays tug of war with him, but when Basil has had enough of playing he lets Dotty know and she backs off.

She’s only a puppy and she will chew but is easily distracted with something that she can chew.

We have had a couple of accidents but since she has learned to use the cat flap she’s no problem. Dotty doesn’t bark very often and is learning not to jump up at people.
All in all Dotty is a very happy dog and would make a lovely pet.

Dotty is a 19 week old collie cross doberman

She is very sweet natured, already sitting and giving her paw for her food.

Dottie will be a very easy dog to train.

She is fostering with Bob and Jackie

We usually only rehome within approx 30miles of the Bournemouth / Poole area
so that we can ensure the continued well-being of the dogs in our care.
We will only re-home further afield if the homes are exceptional.
We are NOT looking for just ANY home that is offered.
All potential homes will be assessed to try and ensure the best possible home
to cater for the differing needs of each individual dog that we rescue.

Elf

Elf has now been rehomed !!

Hi Helen

I just wanted to say thank you for bringing Elf into our lives.

He is totally adorable and learning all the time; he has been with us less than a week but already feels like part of the family.

We will send you some pictures when he is still long enough (at the moment that is when he is asleep)!

Mostly we have shots of a tail disappearing off the edge of the picture!

Regards

Angie

Blue (a.k.a Big Bear, a.k.a Red)

Blue has found a home !!

progress update: 11th Nov 09
Blue the Rhodesian Ridgeback has gone to foster with Bonnie and Chris with a view to keeping him!!

progress update from Chris and Bonnie: 8th Nov 09

Blue has only been with us for a few days and he is doing great.
He gets on well with the children and our other dawdog Duchess.
He has lost weight already he loves his new food and two long walks in the woods a day,
we are very proud of him at making such an achievement in a short space of time.
We call him Big Bear he is so cuddly.
Other dog walkers see Blue running towards them to greet them and they are scared because of his size but once they stroked and talked to him their heart beats slowed down and they all love him around here.

Red is a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback
He is good with other dogs and cats but unfortunately is now too strong for the lady we homed him with two years ago.
He will stay in his present home for the next few weeks and we hope to be able to find him a home which he can move straight to from his present one, which will be less upheaval for him.

for raising £110.00 at two car boots that they did recently.

Also a thank you to Tony, Adam and Molly for their help.

The money raised has helped with the bills we incurred with the recent new dogs that came into the rescue from Ireland.
