Rover has gone to his new home today!
progress update: 20/11/13
Thinks he’s died and gone to heaven – hardly slept for 36 hours – maybe he thought he’d wake up and find himself back where he was…
He is absolutely delightful – loves everyone – dogs, women – men , children (well, one so far…)– watches me like a hawk and sticks to me like glue.
He’s jolly strong for a dog with his background.
If anyone deserves a wonderful forever home, it is Rover.
PS. He doesn’t seem to know his name…

Rover will be coming into the Rescue tomorrow
progress update: 6/10/13
We are in the process of rescuing Rover.
He is not at the Rescue yet but we thought someone might be moved enough by his plight to be able to offer him a home as soon as possible after he comes in, in order to minimise the disruption and stress that he will obviously undergo until he finds a loving forever home.

Hi Helen,
Had hoped not to contact you so soon but had this heart breaking email from Anita from she just wondered if there might be somebody out there
who might be able to take him on.
We will make sure he is vaccinated and given the once over from the vet just to make sure all is well.
It is a lot to ask right now but thought I would run it by you as wasn’t sure what else to do.
Anita has said despite everything he is a lovely dog very friendly and still loves people and also very good with other dogs.
Thank you as always Helen,
Take care,
Eileen
Hi Eileen, here a few photos of Rover.
He is about 10 years old, not neutered and very friendly.
At present he is being kept by his owners in a small enclosure in their back yard without any shelter or company.
His food contains out of scraps of the table that look disgusting and I found his water bowl half empty with dirty water.
Also his run isn’t kept clean.
He was gotten as a pup when the children were five and eight.
I hope that he can find a loving home for the last few years of his life.
Greetings, Anita

Bentley is a shy boy and has lived in a quiet environment but he is adjusting well to living in our busy household.
he can be a little nervous around new people to start with but soon relaxes and enjoys a fuss Bentley loves his walks so would need to go to an active home where he will get plenty of exercise and stimulation at present he is very strong on the lead so would require further training.
Bentley travels well in the car he is clean and quiet in the house, he loves other dogs and is happy to meet greet and play when he is out he really is a lovely dog.

This is Bentley who arrived at the Rescue today,
Bentley is a year old medium size Terrier mix,
he is fully vaxed neutered and microchpped,
he is good with other dogs travels nicely in the car but will require some lead work

The lovely Freddie is about 6 months old, a Collie x Whippet.
A fabulous little chap, very friendly and good with other dogs.
Freddie is fostering with Geoff and all his dogs and is very popular at Geoff’s local pub!

Benson who a few years ago went to live with Gill and Alan.
progress update: 2/5/13

progress update: 10/3/13
This is Lucy and Benson who were homed several years ago.

getting on a bit now but still active

Relaxing in his chair

no longer the puppy I fetched from angies.
Four soon and getting a sensible boy…………..
jill and alan, ex cheselbourne now maiden newton.

To add to this Yvonne phoned me this evening because she just had to tell someone…….
Trinity got really excited about going for a walk with Dottie and had a marvelous time at Hengistbury Head .
Trinity’s legs still give out due to her extra weight but is improving fast and booked in for her second visit to Andy her vet .
Trinity has a home pending home check which Helen and Mark will do .
She is going to live on Brownsea Island .

She loves finding and playing with a ball in spite of her poorly legs she is always waiting for me in the mornings and her fore legs are healing very well she is very laid back and loving girl she has good days and bad days with her walks
Trinity was homed by us four years ago to a lovely retired chap who had adopted a DAWGdog many years before.
Unfortunately, Trinity’s man has become very frail and he realised he could no longer care for her and we have had to take her back.
This broke his heart as he loved her very much as did all his family and grandchildren.
She has put on a huge amount of wweight due to too many extra titbits and no walking in recent months.
Trinity is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is a very gentle soul.
She loves dogs and in particular small children who just light up her life.
She has played for hours today with Yvonne’s ( her foster Mum) young grandson fetching ball for him which both of them loved.
When Trinity arrived to us four years ago she had a weak back leg which was thought due to some mean person ( I would like to call them something else !! ) kicking her .
She is ok with this leg as long as she can pace herself on her walks.

A visit from DAWGdog Bossik aka Bosley,
can’t believe he has been in his new home 6 months its his first birthday this week,
a very happy birthday Bosley !
progress update: 8/6/13
Bossik has found his forever home with a young family who have plenty of footballs for him to burst, this is him after he went on a play date with them yesterday.
Hi Helen just a quick progress report on the gorgeous little chap Bossik we have fostering with us at the moment
since his arrival hes settled in extremely well,
he has made firm friends with my other dogs especially Tilly with whom he spends most of his time playing with,
he is clean and quiet in the house and settles happily in his crate throughout the night.
Bossik enjoyed his first walk with us this morning he travelled very nicely in the car and thoroughly enjoyed
meeting a variety of dogs and people along the way,
he really is a wonderful little chap with a super nature who would bring a huge amount of enjoyment to any household, he really is delightful.
regards
Niki
