in memory of her uncle who has recently passed away
and who loved dogs very much indeed
We would like to say a very big
to Mollie Carney
for her most kind donation of £100
to the Rescue !!
Pets at Home invited DAWGdogs to the open day of their new store at
Branksome today to promote the Rescue and we would like to thank them for
this opportunity.
Helen would also like to thank Angela, Claire, Kasey and Simba (one of the DAWGdogs) for their help today.
Simba was an absolute star wagging his tail at all the people who stopped to talk to him
and ask Kasey about his skin problem.
He gave it his best and charmed many people into giving him treats.
We raised £83.53 towards Simba’s skin reconstruction which is to start
in October after his holiday in Wales with his foster Mum and Dad and canine friend Buddy.
Simba has a nasty skin scar which hasn’t healed properly
after he was knocked down by a car two years ago.
This started to bleed after he came into the rescue and he was seen by Kasey’s vet
Mr Spencer of Spring Corner Vets who specialises in skin reconstruction.
Even though some of the wound has healed this skin is tight and without surgery will not heal completely.
Mr Spencer is interested in this type of work and has kindly agreed to do the operations at a reduced price,
but this will still run into several hundred pounds depending on how many operations are needed.
We are starting a Simba appeal to help with the costs of this treatment
and if you would like to contribute this can be done via Paypal on our website or by contacting the Rescue.
We would like to thank Claire who raised an additional £31.97
collecting at Pets at Home on her own on Sunday.
We at the Rescue would like to wish Angela and Colin a Happy Anniversary for today and thank Angela for coming along today even though she had a meal to cook for several people.
We would also like to thank Mr Glover the manager at Pets at Home for the food that he donated to the Rescue.
Nicky and Kevin raised £85.00 for the
rescue by selling cakes on a stall.
Nicky and Kevin have also fostered several dogs for us and we would
like to thank them for paying for the food costs out of their own
pocket.
The money raised by them paid one of our vet bills which was a great
help to the rescue funds.

The pups arrived from Ireland in the best of health thanks to
Catherine who fostered them in Ireland.
Catherine had looked after them since they were 4 weeks old,
when they arrived to her thin and scared.
Now they are bouncy and full of life!
Catherine for looking after them so well !
Catherine is now fostering another litter of pups who will come to us
in 3 weeks time!
We would also like to say
to Sheryl’s mum Wendy who donated £10.00 to the Rescue !
Mariela and Harriet put on a show at Mariela’s house for their friends and family.
They raised £31.00 and today delivered it to the Rescue.
Whilst here they met Josie and Rosie who made a great fuss of them!
The money that they raised is going towards vet bills and we would like to thank them very much !!
Below are photos of Mariela and Harriet meeting Josie and Rosie –
