Minnie the Minx ( a.k.a Milo ) & her 9 pups

progress update: 16/12/2014

Minnie has now found a home !!

progress update: 02/11/2014

The puppies are nearly five weeks old and will stay at the rescue with Minnie until they are eight weeks old.
They will then go off to finishing school in foster homes to learn how to put on dinner parties and how to behave in social circles.

Minnie by this time will be glad to see them fly the nest…..

Minnie and her puppies have moved back to the Rescue.
Here they all are just arriving.
There are five boys and four girls and their eyes have just opened.
Minnie is the perfect Mum and they are all well fed and kept scrupiously clean by her.
Soon they will be tottering about and one of the girls is already sitting up.

Minnie will need a home once the puppies are older

Her nine newly-born pups will also need homes once they are old enough to be re-homed

Cigars were smoked and the Cognac opened in celebration of the safe arrival of Minnie’s puppies and also in celebration that more weren’t born.
Nine is quite enough thank you for Minnie to cope with and also poor Linda who will hanging from the rooftops by the time the puppies are old enough to leave her house.

Helen has asked Linda who is bi-lingual to bring the puppies up speaking both English and Dutch so that they when they are old enough they can get good jobs anywhere in the world.

Both Mum and babies are doing well.

There has been development in Minnie The Minx’s story and that is that she is pregnant so obviously not quite the well behaved girl that she has portrayed herself to be since arriving at the Rescue.
The Minx part of her name is well deserved we think to ourselves !!

Last week she moved into her private Mums to be Home at Linda’s house where she is being waited on hand and foot with her feet up on a stool to help her swollen ankles ( how many busy working Mums to be would love that sort of treatment – sometimes in can be quite a cushy life as a dog )
She was glad to get away from Toyah who seemed to think it was ok to stand on Minnie’s stomach to try and reach that forbidden item put up out of the way !
We keep telling Minnie that in some parts of the world women have their babies in the field and continue working but she says she has done all that before and now plans to take full advantage of the more pleasant surroundings and the servants that adore her.

In a few months she will be ready for a new home and by this time we are sure she will be glad to be off and away from her demanding children after two months of lack of sleep from nightime feeds!

Minnie has really taken Toyah the puppy under her motherly wing.
Toyah snuggles up next to her and Minnie with good nature puts up with Toyah when she stands on her stomach to reach higher to something she wants, sticks her head in Minnie’s food bowl, catches Minnie’s tail which is always wagging and as you can see from this photo shares Minnie’s bed.

Minnie is a people lover and is always wanting to be rest her head on your knee to be stroked and hugged.

Minnie is a very gentle, placid and quiet dog who loves lots of cuddles.

She is doing a great job of looking after an unwell puppy who has come into the Rescue and is very patient.

Minnie doing her ‘I am so good!’ pose.

Milo has also recently arrived and this is where it gets confusing because Milo is a girl so we are going to be calling her Minnie the Minx seeing as we are on a comic theme with names and we haven’t had a dog named this before.
It helps Mark out who does the website if they have different names as he is easily confused…..

Minnie the Minx is a black Lab type girl who really likes other dogs and other children.
When she has arrived I am sure Stephanie the DAWGdogs photographer will come and take photos of her showing her best side!
