Humpty

Humpty has now found a home !!

progress update: 17/2/12

Hi Helen

Just to update you on this handsome boy.
He will be three in April.
Gets along fine with my dogs and all that we have met out on our walks.
Has good recall. He has met the rabbits , chickens, guinea pigs and cats and is very good with them all.
Once in the car travels well, a little unsure about getting into the car.
He likes to play ball and frisbie and splash about in the river.
He is good in the house barking only at the doorbell he is a really smashing dog just waiting to go to a new home.

Hi Helen,

Humpty is nearly 3 years old, he is a red and white border collie.
He is ok with cats enjoying playing with my other foster Jasmin. Has lived with children.
He is ok on the lead but can get carried away trying to get to all the lovely sniffs.
He has mixed in well with my girls. Will write again when I know him better.

Charlie

Charlie has now found a home !!

progress update: 29/1/12

Charlie is about 2 years old.
He gets on well with other dogs and our cat, who treats him with utter comtempt as he is the same size as her.
She has had a go at playing with him but he’s not too sure of her.
He is good off the lead and enjoys chasing a ball which he then carries around.
He does whine a bit when people leave for work/school but it doesn’t last long and he is very happy to see you when you arrive home.
He is learning to sit and wait for his food but this is a work in progress.
All in all he’s a very happy chap.

Charlie is great, a bit wary of new people at first but soon makes friends.
He’s about the same size as the cat and she treats him with utter contempt.

This is Charlie who is looking for a home.
He is about 2 years old, friendly and gets on with other dogs and cats.
Charlie is a bichon frise.

Sam

Sam has now found a home !!

Sam is 7 years +, a large Springer Spaniel, 25 kg +, black and white, powerful.
Loves: – Walks, company, food (but is not greedy), cars (especially Land Rover Discoveries!) people (especially men), Radio 4!
He is good with other dogs, children and likes going to the pub!
He is house trained and obedient (but can be stubborn).
I am pretty sure he has been a gun dog in the past.
He does pull on the lead but this can be overcome.

Jasmin

Jasmin has now found a home !!

progress update: 4/2/12

Hi Helen,

Just a quick update on Jasmine.
A lovely crossbreed who is about ten months old .
She is growing into a lovely dog.
Very social with other dogs and people, loves to play ball or chase with another willing dog.
She enjoys riding in the car.
Is doing well with her house training.
Is clean and quiet in her crate over night.
She has met the cats , chickens , rabbits and guinea pigs doesn’t seem to be overly bothered by them .
Can pull a little but this is getting better , and is very enthusiastic about everything and could possibly do very well in agility or flyball.
With those ears and her zest for life she will make a lovely addition to a family.

This is Jasmin who is about 7 months old and gets on well with other dogs.
She arrived on Wenesday from a dog pound where she was due to be put to sleep so came to us in the nick of time.

Jasmin is smaller than she looks in the photos.
She is a small medium crossbred.

Tilly (a.k.a Nala) and Merlin (a.k.a Defa)

progress update: 7/2/12

Hi Helen,

Just wanted to send over an update Nala or Tilly as we have renamed her.

She has settled in so well, she is so smart and learns so very quickly. She really enjoys her walks in the woods each day, especially when she meets other dogs in there.

She loves to play, especially loves balls and she is loving learning tricks. Tilly really wants our cat Oscar to join in and play with her and really can’t quite understand why he won’t run around with her.

We just want to say thank you again as Tilly has brought us a lot of happiness already and know she’ll bring us a lot more.

Regards
Matt & Arlene

Nala and Defa have both now found homes !!

progress update: 10/12/11

Hi Helen,

Its amazing what a couple of days can do!
When they arrived both pups were terrified of people and would run to the opposite end of the room as soon as you entered it.
Today they are chasing the children round, laying on their backs to have their tummies tickled and enjoying all the affection that is being lavished upon them.
They are eating well and their upset tummies are getting much better. They are doing really well with toilet paper training and are (mostly) quiet during the night.

I have enclosed some more pictures for you.
Will keep you informed of their progress,

Tanya

Hi Helen,

Please find attached photo’s of two of the collie pups who arrived this morning.
We have named the little girl Nala and the little boy Defa.

They are very nervous and shy away from contact, so its going to be slowly and softly with these two.
Will send more pictures and a further update when I have won their trust.

Thanks,
Tanya

Sammy is 16 months, a Beagle/Border Collie cross (probably!), tan and white, slim and fast.
Loves: – Walks, food (eats fast), going to the pub, people, other dogs, Radio 4!
He is house trained and obedient.
Good on the lead after the initial excitement.

Hi, I am staying with Jeff and his gang of dogs and a horse.
I am a mixture with a bit of Beagle in me.
I am bigger than I look in my photos more Springer Spaniel size.
As I think I have said before I was thrown out of a car as it was going along the road.
I have had a little trouble with my back legs as a result of this but Tom the vet says I am all okay to go to a new home now.
I like older children best the younger ones don’t always understand how to behave around a dog.
I enjoy racing around the land at the back of Jeff’s house with his dogs.

Sammy is a Beagle cross that was thrown out of a car with his sister.
He gets on very well with other dogs and is popular with Jeff’s friends at the pub who he shares a teatime drink and chat with every night.
All his drinking buddies like to discuss world politics but don’t worry he won’t bore you with lengthy discussions about the state of the world as he is much more interested in walks and laying in front of the wood burner in the evenings.

He is such a beautiful boy with bags of character, mad as a hatter.
He is very easy to train as he cottons on to commands very quickly.
He is almost totally housebroken, I say almost because we still have the occasional excitable accident.
His favourite game is tug of war, but we have to make sure that it is us that wins in the end and not him (important aspect of training).
