Jess has now found a home !!

Hi, I’m Jess.

My family are moving abroad so I need to find a new home. I’m staying at Claire’s for a couple of days. She was expecting a Jack Russell but she got me instead! I’m quite a bit bigger than a terrier and I have just as much energy! Mark has been playing tug with me so he knows I’m quite a strong dog too! I love toys and have been running around with a tennis ball in my mouth. I was allowed to take it on my walk. I met Barney another DAWG dog, this morning. We went to the water meadows and played chase and one of us lost a tennis ball. I don’t think it was me, I have been trying to pick two up at a time but it’s very tricky.
Claire let me off the lead on my first outing, she doesn’t normally do that but we were in a safe place, with another dog and she thinks I’m more used to being off the lead than on it ( and as I said I am quite strong). I was very good, coming back when called and not running off too far and I brought the ball back most of the time. I loved running through the massive puddles and getting wet, Barney wasn’t so sure about getting wet so he was trying to impress me by leaping over the water rather than bounding through it like me!
After our chase in the meadow Claire and Barney’s mum had coffee while he and I played together back at his house, making quite a hairy mess on his mum’s carpet. Ooops (not sure I’ll be allowed back…could be worse though!) Claire says I’m a very good natured dog and very tolerant. Barney likes biting my legs to get my attention but I don’t tell him off or get funny with him at all, even when he tries swinging on my beautiful velvety ears.
I’m off for a nap now. My busy morning has made me a little tired but I’m sure I could do it all again this afternoon and again tomorrow if you like.
I’m quite easy going with people and dogs and I love company. I’ve been given a big bed to lie on but I’m happy on the carpet. I was a bit squeaky/ whimpery when I arrived but I have just said goodbye to my old life and surroundings. I’ve settled down a lot today, Claire and Mark seem to really like me and have great toys to distract me from feeling down. I’ve been wagging my tail lots to let them know I appreciate it. I also do high-five for a treat or two or if I feel like it!

This is Jess.

I am a Lab x Spinone but you will be glad to hear I don’t have the strong oily smell of a Spinone, though you can clearly see my heritage. I am 2 years old, good with children and dogs.
I was brought to the rescue as an emergency my fella is moving to Australia this Sunday for a job and he only had five weeks notice of this .
He had tried to find me a home but couldn’t and was running out of time.
I was picked up by Claire who is fostering me for the weekend,
I must say it is rather cushy here I could get to quite like it.

I will update you as to how my weekend goes in a couple of days.
