Hi Helen, just an update on Boysie who we adopted from you a year ago in a few days time.
He has settled in so well and is now a healthy weight.
He has overcome his anxiety around strangers (although it took a while) and now is happy around new people. The past year has been so enjoyable he is such a pleasure to have around.
I have attached a few photos of him over the last year.
Alice and Joy. :)

Hi Helen
Update and photos on Boy, we are calling him Boysie, he is settling in with the other dogs, and met the grandchildren today, he was very good
with them.
He loves running around in the garden and has been very well behaved on his walks in the forest, he has met the forest ponies, lots of other dogs and horseriders and was not worried at all.
He has a lovely temperament, he knows the sit command and he will be very easy to train, I started the leave command today with food and he got the idea very quickly.
Regards
Carol
New dog just in is Boy, a 11 month old collie cross good with children and dogs.
Never taken for a walk before and wasn’t given a name before coming to the rescue.
Gorgeous dog and lovely temperament.

Hi Helen,
Just an update on Jake and to tell you what a super little boy he is, so full of fun and on the go all day.
He bonded with me as soon as I got him home and now when I look down he is by my side at the office desk all the time.
He loves his walks and always comes back when called.
Still has an issue with other dogs but I have started to socialise him when we go out for walks down by the river.
Thank you for all your advise and I will keep in touch and watch with interest the dogs that pass through your door looking for new homes, you do a wonderful job.
Take care
John
Jake arrived into the rescue today.
He is 4 years old , doesn’t like children for perfectly understandable reasons as he was teased by them and also does not like people putting a hand straight down to him.
It only takes 10 minutes and he is sitting on your lap, he is a lovely chap.
Getting on well with the dogs at the rescue and is polite enough to ask to go out to go to the toilet.

progress update from her fosterer Heleanor
Millie is a German Shepherd cross about 2 years old.
She is a perfect GSD in miniature.
About the size of a small Labrador.
She walks well on a lead.
She traveled home in the car with out a peep.
She has met the cats, rabbits and chickens as well as my other dogs.
She was inquisitive but that was all.
Hi Helen, just thought I would send you an update on Katie now I know her a little better, as you know there were quite a few trust issues when she first arrived, which are still ongoing regarding strangers coming into the house, but we are working through this, I think much of this has to do with the fact that she felt she was in charge, now she been demoted things are improving.
Katie is the most sweet loving dog once she trusts you, shes loves to be stroked and does her very best to please you, she’s is very obedient and is fantastic in the house, happy to go in her crate through the night and clean and dry, we had our first off lead walk this morning and she did fantastically, mixed well with other dogs and her recall was excellent, I couldn’t fault her.
Katie enjoys the company of my other dogs and has lived with other dogs, but she could happily live on her own, Katie needs a strong
owner and firm boundaries if given these she will make a wonderful companion, she would be need to be homed with children over 12.
Regards
Niki
Katie is two and a half years old

Hi Helen
Scooby is doing really well, we love him to bits and he has settled in completely.
I am sure you would see how contented he looks by the way he has filled out!
We are beginning to let him off the lead more and more but he does have a habit of disappearing for 15 mins and scaring us,
I think he picks up the scent of something and is off…..
Thanks Helen
Please see some pictures of Scooby attached.
Sarah
When Scooby was found he weighed 30 lbs.
When you think that the weight of a Jack Russel is usually around 21 lbs the enormity of how underweight a dog of Scooby’s size was becomes clear.
He was found wandering on his own having obviously been unable to scrounge enough food.
His head and body hung like those awful photos you see of worn out horses when they have given up.
Thanks to Eileen in Ireland who took him in by the time he arrived to us he had gained a lot of weight and even though he still needs to fill out a little more he is much, much improved.
Not a happy past for a dog who loves his Scooby snacks !!

Scooby now has his very own Mystery Machine thanks to Jeremy!!

A couple more photos of the lovely Scooby.
Scooby has been fostering with us for just a week now so time for a little write up.
We understand Scooby is about three years old and his breed is a Harrier Hound, possibly crossed with something else.
He is a big dog but gentle and laid back.
Scooby is clean in the house, he is crate trained and very quiet (I have not heard him bark once yet).
He seems friendly with other dogs and with a harness walks beautifully.
He has also joined us in our training for the New Forest Half Marathon and loves to come jogging.
Scooby has just been neutered. Not sure how he is with cats but probably best not going to a home with small furries.
He travels well in the car.

Lily was in a pound and only had day left before being destroyed so we took her into the rescue.
She is five years old, playful, getting on reasonably well with the cats as long as they don’t run, good with children and ok with other dogs but we think she would prefer to be the only dog.
She was already micro chipped, vaccinated and in very good health when we took her in and seems to respond to men very well, heavens knows how she ended up on death row.

Lady has settled in well at Geoff’s and is coming on in leaps and bounds.
Much more confident around men than when she first came into the rescue.
Lady has had a terrible time, she was skin and bone when first found and terrified of men.
Her two companions were so emaciated they couldn’t be saved and died.
Thanks to Geoff and visits to the pub she is less scared and easier in the company of men.
Lady is gentle, good with children, dogs, cats and chickens what more could anyone ask for in a dog.
Lady is a mixture possibly with some Pointer in her.
Lady is young and arrived today from Ireland where she had been fostering with Catherine who has transformed her from a skinny, starved and frightened girl to a healthy and more confident dog.
Thank you Catherine you have done a marvellous job with her.
At Catherine’s Lady got on well with the cats and the chickens.
She is a little fearful of men but is now fostering with Jeff who took her off to the pub with him for a teatime drink today.
She met the cronies from the pub and even though a little shy at first soon got into the swing of putting the world to rights and discussing present day politics.
She also met Rudy ( a Dawgdog ) and his companion an English Bull Terrier and happily played with them when bored off the pub talk.
She is fantastic with other dogs.
