Gibson

Gibson has now found a home !!

Gibson is three years old and a Collie cross.
He came from a couple that loved him very much.
Gibson just could not take to the new baby and even though his people tried for ten months to get him to accept baby Gibson just didn’t feel happy.
He is fantastic with other dogs and loves people.
He would be better in a home with older children.
He has been to the pub with his foster Dad to meet the regulars who all loved him.

progress update: 13/12/12

Tommy and Paddy are very well and a couple of pics are attached for you to see them.
They are amazing characters and are so different from each other that it’s hard to believe they are brothers!!
They are loving their walks around here, and we go out for about 2 hours each day.
Paddy has filled out a bit, and they both have become quite muscular with all the exercise.
They are used to traffic now, though it did take a while, and I don’t hesitate to take them through town now at any time of the day to go to walks on the other side of the square.
They love their kongs and I put a bit of cheese in the bottom and stuff a couple of markies in and they have this after their tea.
Everyone loves them in town as they are so easily recognisable and make a handsome pair.
I don’t find their blindness an issue at all, and in fact its amazing how they scamper around like sighted dogs on walks.
All in all a big success!

Hi Helen,

A quick note to put your mind at rest.
Timmy and Tommy have settled in amazingly well, and after an aborted attempt to go for a quick walk
on Saturday, we set forth this morning at 8am and had a successful trot up Fleet Street and returned via the back tracks, a real success, and then another longer walk during the day.
They are eating well and are now both sound asleep, Tommy on his back and snoring.
They seem entirely happy, and I am very happy indeed with them.
Thank you so much for all your help.

I’ll send another report later in the week.

Best wishes,

Hazel

Tommy and Timmy have now found a home together !!

progress update: 27/7/12

Tommy and Timmy are now walked by the Woof Parade children who have been nominated Official Dawgdogs Walkers.
Tommy and Timmy love walking with this gang as they get lots of fuss!

progress update: 21/7/12
Well, what can I say about Tommy and Timmy except they are the perfect dogs.
Blind they may well be and I challenge anyone to know this when they meet them as they run around like sighted dogs.
Today a posse of enchanting children took over the walking of them on Saturday’s weekly Woof Parade which for those of you that don’t know what this is it is a weekly meeting of ex Dawgdogs and non Dawgdogs for a dog extravagance of ball throwing and walk around the heath.
The children loved taking it in turns to walk them as Tommy and Timmy sniffed their way full steam ahead stopping occasionally to roll in fox poo.
I hope that someone will come forward to offer them a home together as I will not part these brothers and anyone who adopts these two will be the
lucky ones but in the meantime I am happy for them to stay here as
long as it takes to find them a deserving home.

A short clip of Timmy and Tommy

A longer clip of Timmy and Tommy

We have discovered that both Tommy and Timmy are blind and can only see a little bit of light.
They get around so well that it was apparent at first.
They are both good with other dogs and enjoy their walks.
We know that a blind dog is not first on anyone’s list when looking for a dog but hope that someone with a generous heart will offer a home to one of them.

progress update: 5/7/12

Timmy and Tommy spent the night quietly and were clean and dry in their crates this morning,
very affectionate little dogs, just a bit bigger than terriers these little Beagles make super companions

Tommy and Timmy are two and a half year old Beagles.
We would love to find them a home together as Tommy is partially sighted but realise it
may not be possible to do this.
They are sweet natured boys and get on well with other dogs.
Pat their foster Mum will send in more updates once they have settled down.

Hi Helen.

I thought you would like an update on Max who we have had with us for over 5 years now.
As you can see from the photos he is a very happy confident chap who is at his happiest when surrounded by adoring people which is lucky as nearly every person we meet seems to be incapable of not making a fuss of him.
Apart from a few stiff joints he is still fit and healthy, if a bit slower than he was.
He has been a delight to have and even members of the family who were unsure of or didn’t like dogs are now sold.

Sorry it has taken so long to update you.
Mike Legg.

Hello Foster Mummy Pat

I hope you like my photo of me with my special friend Minnie Mouse – she’s much bigger than me but I like sleeping under her particulary when I can arrange myself on my back with all legs in the air.

I have just had my second check-up with the vet man who is very kind to me. He says I still have an ear infection and so must now have another course of anti-biotics – different to last time. He also cleaned out my anal glands – thank goodness! They were really giving me gip.

I have got used to my routines now and enjoy myself – or sleep. Sleeping is something I do quite a lot of because I am an elderly lady but I do have two walks every day, mostly with my dad. On Thursdays I do the the paper delivery round with mum and dad and two/three times a week I go on the Age Concern bus which dad drives. It’s fun meeting all these new people on the bus who all make a fuss of me. I also visit and ‘aunt and uncle’ who are in their 90’s so are elderly like me.

I have got used to going down the garden on my own although I like to see that mum or dad are waiting at the door for me and I have found a way of letting them know when I need to go out so that the house is clean and dry. Bit of a nuisance that I don’t bark and I have no way of letting anyone know why.

If you would like to come and see me you will be very welcome.

Love Missy.

Dear Helen

She has settled in exceedingly well enjoying physical contact with whoever is ready to rub her tummy or tickle her ears.
She has been on the AgeUK bus and loves the elderly passengers who are only too ready to make a fuss of her;
many of them have had dogs before and miss owning one now.
She takes a leisurely walk each morning (helping with the once a week paper round) to get the joints moving and has a more energetic one in the afternoon.
Evenings are for eating and napping and bedtime means a lovely snuggle up to ‘dad’ on his bed.
She enjoys being brushed and groomed – just another excuse for lots of fuss!!
Hope the attachment is sufficient for your needs but let me know if I need post the original.
Kind regards
Linda Hollows and Tony Miles

DEAR FOSTER MUMMY PAT

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW I AM WELL SETTLED IN AND HAVE BEEN LOTS OF
PLACES. I VISITED THE STROKE CLUB AND MET LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO SEEMED
TO LIKE ME AND STROKED ME AND I LOVED THIS. I THEN WENT DOWN TO THE
BEACH FOR A WALK WITH MY DAD – NOT TOO KEEN ON THE WIND IN MY FACE BUT
WAS OK GOING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. I MANAGED THE STEPS UP AND DOWN
TO THE BEACH WITHOUT ANY TROUBLE BUT I DON’T SEEM TOO KEEN ON THE
STAIRS IN THE HOUSE.

I ALSO DID THE ONCE-A-WEEK PAPER ROUND WITH MUM & DAD – QUITE GOOD FUN
WALKING UP AND DOWN PEOPLE’S GARDEN PATHS. HAVE ALSO VISITED A COUPLE
OF OTHER HOMES WITH DAD WHERE EVERYBODY SEEMED TO LIKE ME.

I LIKE THE CONSERVATORY IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN THE SUN COMES IN AND I
STRETCH OUT ON MY BACK AND LET THE SUN WARM ME UP. I HAVE DECIDED
THAT I LIKE AN EVENING MEAL BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A FEW DRY BITS LEFT
OUT SHOULD I NEED A QUICK SOMETHING DURING THE DAY. THERE’S A SOFT
BALL AND A SMALL TEDDY FOR ME BUT I HAVEN’T GOT INTO PLAY MODE YET.

THOUGHT I MIGHT GET AWAY WITH DOING QUICK PEE OUTSIDE DOOR BUT DAD
SOON CAUGHT ON AND NOW I AM TAKEN TO THE END OF THE GARDEN. HOWEVER,
HAVE DECIDED THERE ARE LOTS OF LOVELY SMELLS HERE SO DON’T MIND THAT I
HAVE TO WALK BACK TO GET TO MY BED.

I HAVE A MORNING AND AN AFTERNOON WALK – BIT STIFF GETTING STARTED BUT
OK AFTER A WHILE. OFF ON THIS THING CALLED A ‘MINI BUS’ THIS
AFTERNOON – HOPE I LIKE IT. WILL LET YOU KNOW. MY DAD HAS YOUR EMAIL
AS WELL AND HE MAY WRITE TO YOU AS WELL. NEED TO HAVE A NAP NOW. LOVE
MISSY

Missy has now found a home !!

Missy went to her new home today and wasted no time at all in getting
comfy on the sofa and having a little nap x sweet dreams missy x

Missy,Zander and Lucky hogging the sofa – older dogs make great pets!

The beautiful Missy is a little gem to have around and great with other dogs but as yet not to be trusted of the lead as she has no recall but is learning her name,
she is developing a personality more every day and is to be found in her basket paws in the air asleep on her back.
Missy is around eight years old.
