Titch

progress update: 4/3/11

Hi Helen
Just a quick note to let you know how Titch is.
He seems to have settled right in as if he’s always been a part of our family !
He’s eating well and loving walks !
We’ve had a couple of “accidents” in the house but not many and he will let us know if he wants to go out.
He is doing well with his crate and seems comfortable and confident to go in it at night.
He has stayed “home alone” a couple of times for short periods and was fine and gave us a lovely welcome home.
We’ll forward some pictures to you soon. Hope all is well

Fiona & Tony Bennett

Titch has now found a home !!

This Titch.
He is very sociable with other dogs and loves humans of any age.
He is terrified of being abandoned, but I am gradually trying to leave him at home for longer periods.
He seems to have gained confidence living with his foster brother so I am sure he would be happy in a forever home with another dog or with humans who would not leave him alone for long.
He is still skinny but doing his best to rectify it!

Barnaby

Barnaby has now found a home !!

progress update: 17/2/11
Barnaby has been a Dawg Dog now for over four weeks and I can’t believe nobody has been to see this little gem of a dog!!
So what can I say!
Well to start with he is absolutely fantastic off the lead,
he doesn’t pull on the lead, his recall his great,
he is friendly and playful with other dogs, he travels well in the car,
he is clean in the house (very occasional accident), he is crate trained,
he is gentle, he doesn’t get on the furniture and in my opinion a really good looking young man!
Barnaby is about 6 months old now and has bags of potential to bring on.
Please ring Helen at the rescue if you want to come and meet him. 01202 380467

progress update from Jane: 7/2/11

Barnaby has been fostering with Sam and Bear but poor Bear has been a little poorly so Barnaby has come to stay with Ozzie while Helen finds him a forever home and Bear gets better.
Barnaby is an extremely handsome Collie X, approx 6 months old.
He is friendly, although a little nervous at first of new people, and playful with other dogs.
He is good off the lead and willing to learn.
Barnaby has settled into our home like he has been here forever – he will be a fabulous family dog.

progress update from Sam: 30/1/11

another update on the stunning little Barnaby

he is getting on fantastically, walking well on lead, playing nicely with other dogs, however yet to be let off lead. he has learnt not to jump up on people when they arrive, and is proving to be a great doorbell, barking when someone knocks the door.

he loves his cuddles, but at the start is very nervous about approaching someone new.

would make a great family pet!

progress update from Sam: 20/1/11

Barnaby is appropriately 5 months old, he has been with us for nearly a week now.
Upon arrival he was very very shy, however he has now come out of his shell.
Although still a little nervous he is getting better each day,
he is friendly with all other dogs he has met and spends most of the day playing with my pup Bear.
Barnaby will toilet outside and is clean overnight, he walks perfectly to heel on a loose lead,
he is also a star in the car, almost forgot he was there until he started to snore!
He is going to make a fabulous family pet…….
He has a cracking character and is getting a little cheeky!

Jasper

Jasper has now found a home !!

progress update: 17/2/11

Hi Jasper here , how’s you Helen ?
I have now learnt that walking is a nice pastime , especially when im walking with my foster mums dog Jack and Patches (who’s doing really well).
Tracy ( foster mum) is apparently very proud of my perseverance travelling in the car ..am getting much better.
Have found my talent in playing football…which has helped me come out of my shell more.
Tracey says that im very much a people person , very wagging tail in doing so.
Tracy has said that she is sure that I will not grow much bigger …currently im “knee high size” and considering Tracy is only 5ft in human terms I am a small/medium beautifully slim dog..
Basically I am looking for a forever home to enhance my beautiful nature ..I wont let you down….Got to go now I feel a cuddle coming on …love Jasper

progress update from Tracey: 21/1/11

We have named him Jasper, he seems to like it!
Well, he has settled in fine enjoying playing with Jack, he is a lively little boy now,
still shy of people he doesnt know but his nosiness gets the better of him.
Jasper is clean in the house lets you know when he wants to go out which is very good, learning to sit not doing to bad may I add.
Loves cuddles and kisses he is just the sweetest thing and is a joy to look after, whoever takes this little chap home is going to be very lucky.
Still not to keen on the lead or traffic but keep working on it, eating fine and doesn’t mind being handled when eating fantastic.
Met my grandson and played with him so another plus good with children,
ignores my chickens has no interest in them what so ever another plus for him.

Bruno & Tallis

Bruno and Tallis have both now found homes!!

Tallis is a neutered 9 month old male Staffie. A really lovely boy, very loyal and affectionate, also very boisterous and energetic. Great off the lead, he will come back when called. Good with children, but doesn’t yet know his boundaries when playing, so better suited to a home without younger children.
Pulls on lead, but with training he will get much better. Good with other dogs but will chase cats & probably other small animals. Found as a stray, he really needs a stable and loving forever home. Tallis has loads of potential to be such a great family dog & is learning fast!

Flash

Flash has now found a home !!

My name is Flash and I came to the rescue last week.
I like it here I have a warm bed, food and a radiator to lie by which I have never had before.
I am quiet and when anyone visits I lie my head on their lap and lean against them, it is such a change to feel a gentle hand.
Before I came here I stayed with a kind lady in Ireland for a night and she sent a letter with me to the rescue she said I was lovely and she wished that she had been able to have me longer so she could clean me up before I travelled. .
Mutley said not to worry he heard Helen making an appointment for me to go to the hairdressers for a wash and blow dry.

Flash has now found a home!!

Rolf

Rolf needs a home !

My name is Rolf, & I’m looking for a person with a big heart to adopt me ,This is my story.
I’m an older dog about ten I think, & when my owner died I was taken to another town & they drove away & left me, but I’m a clever dog & made my way back home,
but it took me ten days, but when I arrived back at my old home, someone took me to the pound, but because I am a mature dog I was going to be pts [ I’m not sure what that is, but it doesn’t sound very nice ]
I love my walks,& can really run fast, & my toys, & I’m a good dog with all the cats, dogs, chickens & ducks that live here too,
When I first arrived I was so unsure of what was going to happen to me next I barked if she left me, but I don’t do that now,

I’ll keep my paws crossed
Yours,
Rolf

Tia and Diesel

Tia and Diesel have now found homes !!

We are very very cute crossbreed puppies [Border Collie x] .
We are called Tia and Diesel and are about four months old.
We are brother and sister and have been staying at emmas house for a few days now.
We get on well with the other two inmates here and are learning where to do somethings and where not to do others.
We sleep in our crate at night and are allowed to sleep in the lounge in the evening when we have run off some of our energy.
We have been on walks in the forest and have enjoyed many cuddles with the humans here.
The overweight Golden Retriever who also lives here can be a bit cranky if you ask her to share her food and the other resident collie gets shirty if we try and play with her ball / stick / frisbee / old sock / football but otherwise it is ok here.
