Casper

Casper has now found a home !!

Casper had a lovely day today.
Jane picked him up at lunchtime and took him through Branksome woods and down to the beach.
He stayed there all day in their beach hut.
He had the company of their dog Teddy to play with and then had a good and long sleep.
Tonight he is staying with Jane at her house and tomorrow will be off for another walk before coming back to the Rescue in the evening.
He is improving day by day and I am a 100 per cent sure he has full sight in one eye.

He really has a good and sweet nature

Casper went for his first walk today and bounced around on the lead like Bambi.
Almost certain that he has good vision in one eye as he can see a tennis ball in dusk light and another dog from 20ft away.
He is now asleep and thoroughly tired out.
He is a clever dog and picks up straight away when to stand still to untangle his lead.
He has started to play with the other dogs

Casper arrived yesterday.
He is only around 5 months old and bless him has not had the best start in life.
He still has most of his baby teeth.
Someone has sliced part of one ear off and on top of this he can only see shadows in one eye and is probably partially sighted in the other.
He is starting to settle in here at the Rescue and has the sweetest of natures.
Today, he was watching the mop going from side to side and trying to catch it.

Roxie

Roxie has now found a home !!

Roxie has been handed into the Rescue to be found a home.

She is around 9 years but bounces like a three year old.
I don’t know what she is like with children as she has never lived with them.
She is good with other dogs and the usual strong, full of energy bulldozer type Labrador.
She is seeing the vet next week for a check over and to be spayed but seems in good and robust health.
She is strong on the lead but I think will calm down once she has had some exercise.
The people who had her kept her in a kennel outside from a little puppy age.
How very sad and why bother to have a pet dog if that is what they do to them.
She smelt to say the least when she arrived but 6 washes later is sweeter smelling.
Otherwise typical Labrador in the fact she is mad for food and knocks everything out of the way to get it.
They are not the most delicate and polite of dogs!

Geoff who she is fostering with has phoned to say she has settled in very well and is a very sweet girl.

Cassie

Cassie has now found a home !!

Hi,

I am still here at the Rescue waiting for a home and even though it is very comfortable here with good company, walks at the beach and quite tasty grub, I would love to find a home.
I have been told I have comic ears which stick up like beacons and lean inwards towards each other.
I really can’t see why this is so funny and a rather rude thing to say !!
Today on a walk Pippin was being a total nuisance or so Helen said, I of course was behaving myself impeccably as usual.
To keep Pippin on his toes I took him off for a good run which gets rid of some of his energy.
I see this as one of my jobs now. One of my other jobs is playing with the Collie who has an Irish name I can’t pronounce.
He has taken time to settle in and I have been showing him the ropes and explaining the rules of the dog room to him.
Which first and foremost is not to pull the blankets on the floor and chew them up, he hasn’t got the hang of this one yet but I am persevering with it. Especially as I am very often lying on the blankets when he pulls them off the bed !!

Cassie is a 9 month old Lurcher – a cross Bearded Collie.

Cassie has been with us since a few weeks before Christmas and what an absolute pleasure to have here.
She is so very good off the lead returning immediately when she is called.
She loves to bring a ball back and forth dropping at myfeet and is soooo pleased to say “Hello” to everyone and their dogs that we meet on walks.

Cassie spent a couple of days helping to fundraise for the rescue and she was a star.
She loved all the attention and getting lots of fuss from people.
She was very good with all the children she met there.
Not sure what she is like with cats not having any here at the Rescue.
Once she has had a good walk she settles down for the day.
Cassie has always had the company of other dogs and I think it would be nice for her to find a home with another dog companion or someone who is at home a lot.
