Jack

Jack has now found a home !!

Jack is two years old and just fabulous.
He gets on very well with other dogs, loves people and is curious to meet Geoff his foster Dad’s horse.
The horse is not interested in meeting him and has been known to chase a over curious dog out of his paddock so Jack has not had the chance to discuss world matters with him.
He does however get to put the world to rights at the pub where Geoff and his cronies meet for an evening drink.
He is a favourite with all of them.

Paddy

REHOMED

progress update: 21/4/12

Hi Helen
We realised the other day that it has been some time since we’ve been in touch to update you on Paddy.
Well, all is going well and he was signed off by Tom for his leg about a month or so ago.

Since then we’ve had lots of lovely time together walking in the woods and forest, cuddles at home and (would you believe) paw massage from Mike!

We did however take him to the vet (locally) today due to what looked like some little pustules in his ‘nether regions’.
The vet discovered that stitches had been left in from when he was neutered and there was an infection as a result.
Indeed, he discovered that only one testicle had been removed.
I realise that Paddy was neutered before coming over from Ireland but thought I should just let you know.
Poor thing, it has been irritating him for a while and we thought at first he was just eager with his washing and attention in that area!!
The other day we discovered the source of his irritation.
We have some antibiotics for him now so it should clear up soon.

That said, Paddy has remained calm and such a lovely natured dog with his confidence growing gradually each day.
He went on his first holiday with us last week to the Isle of Wight! What a lovely time we had.
I’ve attached some photos for you (please share with Tanya or the DAWGS site if you wish).
All in all, we love him lots! Nina, Mike and Tobias

Cian ( now Ozzie ) and Bean

REHOMED

progress update on Cian (now Ozzie): 15/4/12

Hi
I’ve attached some pics of Ozzie as promised although the quality might not be great as camera on my phone is rubbish,
he’s a very good boy except for digging the occasional hole and running off with the odd shoe!
Overall he’s settled really well and is definately the kids dog as he follows them everywhere.
We start puppy classes next week as his recall is a bit sporadic when he either sees another dog or a bird but as he’s so intelligent I can’t see it taking long for him to figure it out.
We’ll probably take him on the charity walk so we may see you there,
it’ll be nice for him to see your dogs again.
I will send more as he grows. The one with the white nose in it is him meeting one of our horses who were more excited than he was!!

Lady (a.k.a Shady)

Shady has now found a home !!

progress update: 8/4/12

Lady aka Shady has just sent the following message…..
Just had a wonderful time on her holiday,
chased a pheasant,
paddled in the river,
and dug in a rabbit hole!
met my first cat and didn’t even glance at it..,
just had her jabs and is going to get spayed in two weeks,
having a wonderful time,
well done lady x

progress update: 2/3/12

Shady and her mum Phoenix,
both foster doggys,
think mum looks a bit tired x

Shady has been to Shampoo and Setters for a hair cut.
When we looked at her after she arrived into the rescue we realised that her coat was full of matts and her paws were so badly matted she was walking on a lump of hair on each paw.
Only the tips of her claws were visible, poor Shady it must have been agony to walk.
Jacquie collected her within the hour when she heard how bad it was and took her off for a wash, clip and groom.
Thank you Jacquie!

Millie

Millie has now found a home !!

progress update:8/4/12

Millie sunning herself in the garden and playing with the cat although she won’t share her ball.

progress update:
We’ve had Millie a couple of days now and she’s a lovely little girl.
She hasn’t learnt to use the cat flap yet but is clean none the less.
She loves playing ball but is learning that I won’t play tug of war with it and will only throw it again when she drops it.
Millie is fine with our cat even when the cat launches herself on Millie’s back trying to play with her.
She would make a wonderful companion in an adult home.

This is Millie who arrived last night.
She is about 4 years old and is speyed.
We went to the park this morning and met up with the usual suspects who she got on with once off the lead.
She loves chasing a ball but was a bit confused at first not knowing who to return it to!!
Millie has met our cat and ferrets and is fine with both.

Will update when I know her a bit better

Tina

Tina has now found a home !!

Tiny Tina with her favourite teddy

Just arrived, Tina a very small JRT.
A little shy with people but good with other dogs, enjoys her food and chewy bones.
Tina is about 18 months old a little shy at first but soon comes out of her shell.
Loves other dogs and loves lots of cuddles.
She is a bit of a rascal and will run off with slippers, plant pots or flip flops
and settle down for a bit re-designing of them.

Ruby

Ruby has now found a home !!

Hi, I am Ruby and I arrived at the rescue on Friday.
I have settled in very well here and love all the dogs that I am sharing house space with.
Rocco is showing me the ropes he told me it is important not to throw blankets on the floor or pee on Helen’s planters in the garden. As if I would !!!!!
I have just been for my first walk off the lead and Helen was sooooo pleased with me.
I am two and a half years old and even if I say myself am a happy little dog by nature.

This is me and Rocco sharing his bed.
Helen’s camera phone isn’t up to much so it doesn’t show us looking our best.
I thought Rocco could have brushed his hair before he posed for it!

Frisbee

progress update: 1/4/12

Frisbee will be going to her new home tomorrow!!

Hello Everyone! My name is Frisbee.
I am a gorgeous friendly little boy looking for a family to love me.
I am approximately 4/5 months old and I look like a greyhound;
but as i don’t remember anything about my mum and dad,
it is probably best to describe me as a Heinz 57 (as I get older my size and shape could change).
I am very sociable and love other dogs, children and cats.
The little children I am staying with love to lead me round the house by my collar, I love playing games with them and am happy to do anything they ask.
I have learnt to sit on command and now that I know I am going to be fed every day I am much better behaved around food (and do not try and steal the cats food off the worktops!).
I walk nicely on the lead and really enjoy a good run off the lead,
but I get a little bit confused when there are lots of people and dogs around, so you may need to shout very loudly and call my name so that I can find you again!
If you think that i would complete your family, please call Helen at the rescue to arrange a visit to meet me.
