Just a little update for you Helen, and hope all is well with you and yours.
Pixie has now been spayed, as you may know, and everything went very smoothly.
She’s all healed up with no problems, back to her normal activities, and thoroughly enjoying herself !
Thought you might like to see these pics, one of them chasing around in the fields, and the other of them both relaxing in the garden.
Best regards from Lynne, Holly & Pixie.

progress update: 4/7/10

Hi Helen,
Just thought you might like these photos, one of Holly & Pixie playing, and the others taken on the patio,
after a long walk and a swim. They are getting closer by the day, and Pixie really brings Holly, (who’s 10 now),
to life on their walks.
Pixie is absolutely full of beans, loves swimming, looking for rabbits, and chasing with other dogs too, which is great.
I have had a small problem with them stealing each other’s beds, which I can smile about in the daytime,
but am not quite so happy with at 2 – 3am in the morning, when Holly usually whinges as she can’t get back in her own bed as Pixie’s right in the middle of it !
The last couple of nights have been peaceful, so obviously my persistence has now paid off ??!!!
I just love them to bits, and it’s great to see that Holly has really accepted her now and gets pleasure from having her around.
She’s still top dog though of course, which Pixie is more than happy with, and takes lots of examples from her.
Luv from Lynne, Holly and Pixie x

progress update 5/5/10

Thought you might like to see this Helen, both the girls half asleep after a long, fun walk and big dinner !
Although Pixie (Faye) tries to show affection to Holly occasionally, it’s not reciprocated yet,
Holly rather ignores her most of the time, so they don’t really interact much yet.
They are quite happy living together though, and Pixie has developed a very strong attachment to me,
which I’m pleased about.
I’m hoping they will get a bit closer eventually, but there are no guarantees, as you know,
and you can’t force the issue.
Best regards, from Lynne

Bramble (the girl)

Bramble has now found a home !!

Bramble is approx nine months old, and is a lovely dog.
She is very friendly and affectionate and gets on very well with people and dogs.
She is very good off the lead and on walks comes back regularly on her own accord without being called.
She is quiet, well behaved and a very intelligent dog who would bond very closely with someone who could offer her lots of attention.

Icke

Icke has now found a home !!

progress update: 29/7/11
Icke has been with Jeff for nearly a week now.
He goes to the pub every evening for a pre – dinner drink and to chew the cud with Jeff and his drinking cronies.
Icke has not had a perfect life before coming into the rescue and could be a bit over protective.
His frequent visits to the pub have helped this a lot and he is has become a sociable dog plus he is sharing bed space with Jeff’s four other dogs and Scooby so has learnt from them how to behave himself.
Quite often the dogs we take in have really had a rough time and they take a while to settle which is why we like to give them time to find their feet.
He first fostered with Nicky and her family and did well there but as he is a dog that is better without young children he has gone to stay with Jeff whose children flew the nest many moons ago.

progress update: 18/7/11
Hi Helen,
He’s no trouble, have been out and about with him today down the river where we met Heleanor with Roxy and her dogs.
Then we went to the common this afternoon, so he’s had a busy day, he really enjoys his walks and is very energetic, he could do with some lead work as pulls like a steam train, but maybe that will settle down in time, I’m hoping he will shed the excess weight with all the walking we do every day, he’s also taken much better than I thought to his crate, he loves it, he’s in and out with toys he can find, suprising for his age, he’s also very affectionate and adores his cuddles, he doesn’t mix much with the girls much to Tilly’s dismay as she’s tried desperatley to get him to play but to no avail, he seems terrified of her, poor chap.

regards
Niki

Just arrived into the Rescue, we’ve temporarily called him Icke as he looks a bit like David Icke!
He is an eight-year old male cocker spaniel.

Tia

Tia has now found a home !!

progress update : 7/7/11

Hi Helen, just a quick update on Tia now we know her a little better,
this little dog has made such progress in the week that she’s been here,
she’s really enjoying her time with us and with our dogs, she plays every chance she gets,
but she also enjoys her quiet time where she will take herself off to her crate and have a snooze, she also enjoys her independance and will often take herself off into the garden, something she would never have done a few days ago.

Tia still worries about going in the car but her travel sickness is getting better with each trip, and once we arrive at out walk she thoroughly enjoys herself,
making a big fuss of everyone we meet, she is also listening to me when I call her back so I will be trying her offlead in the next couple of days.

Tia really is a sweet little girl with a big personality, shes fitted right in and all she wants to do is please you, we love having her with us

regards Niki

Hi Helen just a quick update and few more pictures of Tia,

Since her arrival Tia has settled extremely well, shes spent a lot of time enjoying the garden and
pottering about the house, she has also had a few games with my dogs and seems happy to be around them, when
we intoduced Tia to her crate, first impressions were not good but she soon settled down and we had a very quiet
night, shes now happy to take herself in and go to bed, which is great.

We all enjoyed a nice walk beside the river this morning where she met lots of dogs with no problems at all,
Tia does suffer from travel sickness and can be reluctant to get in the car, but once in she travels quietly and
calmly, she is a very energetic little dog who will be bags of fun, she loves to play and is very very affectionate.

Tia has lived with a cat and has been interested in my Rabbits but not overly so, therefore could possibly live
with small furries.

We are very much enjoying her stay with us

regards
Niki

Hi Helen, here are a few pics of Tia, she has settled well and is doing fantastically well with my girls considering
she has never been socialised with other dogs, will update you when I know her better

Jet has now found a home !!

progress update: 29/7/11
Jet’s foster mum is so taken with him that she has decided to keep him herself!!!

New into the Rescue is Jet who is a mixture of all sorts just a year or so old,
fabulous with other dogs and gets on with children.
He arrived to us from one of the London pounds and luckily for him was
looked after by the kind lady who found him at her house rather than have to go into the kennels.

Peanut

Rehomed

progress update: 24/7/11

Hi Helen,
Thought you’d like to see Peanut after being with me for 4 months.
As you can see he is a happy and fit little boy. by the way he didn’t win the race but his friend Jazz is much bigger.
He is incredibly well behaved even though he has the typical Jack Rusell temperament in many ways.
He is truly my perfect companion and I am so much fitter as being a young dog he needs decent walks.
Thank you for letting me be his lucky new mum.

Our very best wishes,

Pat and Peanut.

progress update: 8/3/11

Greetings from Peanuts – Alderneys’ new resident.

He travelled here in true stoic Jack Russell style – mainly asleep!
After thoroughly checking out the house and garden it was time for dinner then bed.
Next day he learnt that cars are not so bad after all – lots of short trips rewarded by a walk when the car stopped, he now jumps in eagerly.
He enjoys his meals, not so keen on the biscuits as I had been warned but moistened with chicken stock makes them better. We’ve had happy meetings with other dogs especially another small JRT,
Rosie from Battersea Dogs Home.
Hopefully Peanuts will have his first off lead playtime with her on the beach tomorrow.
He is settling in really well , a happy chappy with a waggy tail. For me, well it was love at first sight.

Best wishes to all,
Pat.

Peanut has now found a home in Alderney !!

progress update: 17/2/11

This super chap was found straying, he is roughly 3-4 years old.
A gem of a dog who loves other dogs and people and as you can see is very attached to the puppies who are bigger than him and when there were five living here all piled on top of him.
He is so tolerant.

Anyone welcoming him into their house will be very lucky people.

This is Peanut.
He is about 3 and loves other dogs and people.
