Barnaby

Barnaby has now found a home !!

progress update: 17/2/11
Barnaby has been a Dawg Dog now for over four weeks and I can’t believe nobody has been to see this little gem of a dog!!
So what can I say!
Well to start with he is absolutely fantastic off the lead,
he doesn’t pull on the lead, his recall his great,
he is friendly and playful with other dogs, he travels well in the car,
he is clean in the house (very occasional accident), he is crate trained,
he is gentle, he doesn’t get on the furniture and in my opinion a really good looking young man!
Barnaby is about 6 months old now and has bags of potential to bring on.
Please ring Helen at the rescue if you want to come and meet him. 01202 380467

progress update from Jane: 7/2/11

Barnaby has been fostering with Sam and Bear but poor Bear has been a little poorly so Barnaby has come to stay with Ozzie while Helen finds him a forever home and Bear gets better.
Barnaby is an extremely handsome Collie X, approx 6 months old.
He is friendly, although a little nervous at first of new people, and playful with other dogs.
He is good off the lead and willing to learn.
Barnaby has settled into our home like he has been here forever – he will be a fabulous family dog.

progress update from Sam: 30/1/11

another update on the stunning little Barnaby

he is getting on fantastically, walking well on lead, playing nicely with other dogs, however yet to be let off lead. he has learnt not to jump up on people when they arrive, and is proving to be a great doorbell, barking when someone knocks the door.

he loves his cuddles, but at the start is very nervous about approaching someone new.

would make a great family pet!

progress update from Sam: 20/1/11

Barnaby is appropriately 5 months old, he has been with us for nearly a week now.
Upon arrival he was very very shy, however he has now come out of his shell.
Although still a little nervous he is getting better each day,
he is friendly with all other dogs he has met and spends most of the day playing with my pup Bear.
Barnaby will toilet outside and is clean overnight, he walks perfectly to heel on a loose lead,
he is also a star in the car, almost forgot he was there until he started to snore!
He is going to make a fabulous family pet…….
He has a cracking character and is getting a little cheeky!

Bruno & Tallis

Bruno and Tallis have both now found homes!!

Tallis is a neutered 9 month old male Staffie. A really lovely boy, very loyal and affectionate, also very boisterous and energetic. Great off the lead, he will come back when called. Good with children, but doesn’t yet know his boundaries when playing, so better suited to a home without younger children.
Pulls on lead, but with training he will get much better. Good with other dogs but will chase cats & probably other small animals. Found as a stray, he really needs a stable and loving forever home. Tallis has loads of potential to be such a great family dog & is learning fast!

Charlie ( a.k.a. Charlie Braveheart )

REHOMED !!

progress update: 25/01/2015

This is Charlie or Charlie Braveheart as Helen calls him.
Charlie ex Dawg dog was adopted by Robert several years ago.
The reason he is called Charlie Braveheart is because soon after coming into the rescue he saved Helen from being bitten by another dog.
He has always held a special place in her affections.

Cara

Cara has now found a home !!

progress update: 10/1/11

Cara has been fostering with Ozzie for one week now.
We think she is about 7 months old, a really beautiful looking girl.
Cara is full of fun and puppy behaviour. She is cheeky but knows “no” and will stop when told to do so.
She loves my slippers and knows she shouldn’t really take them, its just a jolly good game!!
She is crate trained and wakes up when we do (9 am at the weekend, not bad for a puppy!!).
We have just started to let her off the lead and she loves to play with other dogs.
She has also learnt “sit” and is clean in the house.
Cara is absolutely ready to be brought on and will make a stunning dog.

Cara is a lovely mixed breed girl, about 7 months old.
Very friendly and playful.

Sadie

Thank you to Award Pet Foods

who sponsored Sadie whilst she was in the rescue

and also have donated a 15 kg bag of puppy food.

Sadie has now gone to her new home !!

My name is Sadie, I am a 12 week old (approx) lurcher,
I pitched up at Helen’s – Not sure how really, but hey, she got me digs at Claire Till’s place and I had a great Christmas!
I slept for the first 3 days! Then got to grips being a puppy again! They want me to do a personal profile! SO HERE GOES:

I look (as you can see by my mug shot) pretty fantastic, I have beautiful eyes and a great personality…. GSH! and all that.
I love fooling around in the garden, I sometimes trip up my own shadow!
I like running…Alot! I’m easy going with short outbursts of full on fun.
Following a mad 20 minutes I like to sleep for 3 hours!

Claire took me to Auntie Jackie’s today, I met Basil – he’s the boss here, and I guess he will be teaching me a few new tricks!

Titch

Titch has now found a home !!

Hi, I was found two days after Christmas wandering around on my own in the cold. I am very glad I was found as it was starting to get frosty.
I am staying with The Brooks family and their grumpy Jack Russel Charlie, we are getting on quite well and he has realised that I am very placid and not here to chuck him off anyone’s lap.
All I want to be able to do is lie on someone’s lap or sleep on their bed I do love to be close to people.
Sarah stayed here last week when Helen was away and I slept right next to her head and didn’t move the whole night.
I am a small Terrier and everyone says how Dinky I am funny I thought they were toy cars.

Patches

Patches has now found a home !!

I am Patches an endearing and friendly fellow or so I have heard.
I am getting on well here at the rescue and following the rules of the dog room i.e not to throw blankets onto the floor, doing my business outside and and making Helen a cup of tea in the morning unlike Cara who is now staying with Jane who did throw the blankets onto the floor and into a puddle of wee.
I heard from Jackson that Helen had just washed, dried and put the blankets onto the shelf 5 mins before !!
I love everyone and love to meet new visitors and dogs who visit.
I am still young only 7 months but my mother taught me well how to behave in civilised dog company.

Mo

progress update: 20/12/10

Hi Helen

Just thought I’d write a little note to tell you how Mo is getting on! ….. Well I am truly in love with him! Can’t believe how good he is and how well he has settled in! He is laying infront of his favourite place next to the fire as I write this!

He is like my little pal, everywhere I go he goes, the first week I didn’t leave him at all on his own he came everywhere with me and met my family and friends, they all adore him especially my little niece who likes to take him for walks round the garden everytime she see’s him. He’s brilliant with them. He’s also met my mums little Jack Russell Tilly who we go on walks with and they have formed quite a lovely little friendship, they love going up the garden together then they come in and play for hours, it’s quite funny to watch, they chase eachother round the house then crash out infront of the fire. He’s really come out of himself and has started to recognise people he see’s a lot (especially my mum and dad who feed him beef and chicken!) He is an easy dog to feed, he loves his food!! He has been a little bit spoilt, he has his dog food but a few times he’s had mince and chicken, which he devoured in 5 seconds!!!

He’s such an affectionate dog and loves cuddling up and his hypo time is first thing in the morning when I get up his tail doesn’t stop wagging for ages! He sits outside the bathroom and waits for me to come out! He’s quite a vocal dog too, he lets me know when it’s time for walks and if you come in the house he gets excited and starts talking!! He loves chasing balls on his walks, that’s all he wants to do really and gets quite upset if another dog takes the ball! So we always have a few on hand! Staight away he was brilliant on walks, he’s good off the lead and always comes back when you call him.
He’s got his little place in my car and is really good in the car.

I am very happy with him and absolutely adore him!!!! So thank you for letting me have the beautiful little Mo :-)

I will keep you updated! If you could maybe pass on to Jane too that he is settling in great.

Thanks

Laura

Mo has now been rehomed !!

progress update: 4/12/10

progress update: 24/11/10

Mo has really come a long way in the week he has been with us.
We have just started taking him for walks and it soon became clear he just wanted to follow Ozzie so we let him off the lead.
He loved the beach but is a little nervous on busy roads, just don’t think he is used to cars.
Mo does not pull on the lead at all. In the house he is quiet and friendly with visitors.
This weekend was Jeremy’s 18th and the house was full of merry teenagers and Mo didn’t bat an eye, it was Ozzie who wanted to join the party at 4 am!!
I am amazed how well little Mo has settled in so quickly to our busy house.
He is an easy little boy and will reward his lucky new owners with lots of love.

more photos to follow soon

Update on Mo who arrived today:-

I’ve had a really stressful day today, first of all I have to say goodbye to my brother and then Jane comes along and takes me to her house. It seems ok, she tells me that Ozzie lives here but he is out for a long walk with his Dad today, I feel very nervous but then Jeremy woke up, it was about 4 pm so that’s strange, but he cooked some sausages and boy they smelt good! Then Jane gave me some sausages and they were lush. She said they were her best chipolatas but didn’t mind if it made me happy so she cooked some more. It was just getting dark and Ozzie came home very tired and hungry. He could smell the sausages too! But then, he really upset me. Jane had given me a really cosy bed and what happens but Ozzie thinks its his and steals it from me!!! Jane has taken some photos for you to see!!

Mo is a 6 month old Jack Russell Terrier Cross boy. More details to follow once he settles in but in the mean time, if you think you could offer Mo a home, please ring Helen at the rescue!

Mo is good with other dogs and children.
