Sad news about Dave the Lurcher, he was on his walk running with Libby his friend and suddenly had a heart attack and died.
Debbie and Jamie who were fostering him are upset but we all agree what a
good way to go running and having a wonderful time.

Hi Helen a little info on Dave, he is a lovely boy fits in really well with other dogs, has a bit of kennel cough which the vet says he is nearly over and also an ear infection ,which means he hears loud noises but not the quieter level ones such as talking to him but he is being treated and hopefully there will be no lasting damage, in the meantime if he goes too far away when out walking Libby will go and round him up so he then comes back, he is a bit hormone driven at the moment and needs neutering, when that is done he will be a darling.
We think he must have been a pet he loves being stroked and if you rub round his ears will lean into you with his eyes half shut in bliss, he has decided the cats are fun to chase but we are working on that at the moment he is a very good natured boy and learns fast.
He has already learnt that he has to be out in the hall while I prepare their food and then they come in in turn and give me their paw, he eats in a very civilised manner and there is no food aggression, but he will steal what he can and is tall enough to reach work surfaces to take down plates and pans!
He will also leg it out of the front door if he can and trot off down the road and then can’t hear you but he is easy enough to catch you just follow and grab him when he stops to wee, very frequently!
He already recognises me and licks me when I come in being in the front of the pack. He is beautifully marked with a small rosette of fur on top of his head and a small ridge of fur all the way down the top of his muzzle to the nose so cute I have already bathed him with no objections he ignores my chickens and seems ok with children but my boys are older and he has only met my 9 year old goddaughter but he was unfazed.
All in all a lovely boy
Debbie

Lurcher male 10 months old, good with dogs and ignores cats.
