Ella & May

Ella and May have both now found homes !!

progress update on Ella: 22/3/11

We now have Ella with us. We all love her very much.
Slowly but surely is getting used to us.
On Saturday she hid in the corner pretty much all day and didn’t want anyone to touch her.
She did however eat her food and drink her water.
During Sunday she started to perk up a bit and didn’t look so sad.
She loves her new bed and the safety she feels from it.
Now on Tuesday she is so much happier. She has licked us all and will let us stroke her.
She will follow you around the house and goes in the garden without any problems.
She is wary of others that are not family but everyone who sees her falls in love with her immediately.

progress update: 9/3/11

Ella has been with us almost a week and has settled in well.
She is very timid and wary of people, not because she has been abused but because she hasn’t had much contact.
Ella doesn’t hide away but is curious and follows you from room to room and if you manage to catch her unawares she does let you pet her without shying away.
She enjoys going on walks and gets on well with other dogs we meet.
Ella also gets on with our cat and does play with her.
She is about 5 months old.

progress update: 8/3/11

May has now found a home !!

Ella and May ( May is the one at the back)
Ella is young about 7 months old she will not grow to be a large dog possibly Sheltie size.
She gets on famously with other dogs, cats and children and walks well on a lead.
She is nervous of people but not through abuse but because she has had little human handling.
She would do well in a home with another dog.

May.
May is a Collie very good with dogs and gentle natured.
She is nervous of people but has only just arrived and I am sure in a few days will feel more confident.
Once she has settled we will put up a progress report on her.

Missing beagle

Hi,

My name is Julia Gammon and on November 28th 2010 my beagle went missing in Lordshill woods in Southampton.
I am aware that he may have been stolen, however I have been told that Beagles are capable of travelling miles over a short period of time and therefore I am emailing his details to dog wardens throughout the country.
Please would you take some time to look at his picture and read his description and see if he matches any dogs you have picked up or if you could give me some details of where to call, I would be extremely grateful.
I am offering a subtantial reward for his return as he is very much missed.

He is tan and white, he has been neutered and he is a year and 3 months old.
He has tan patches covering both his eyes and ears, and some patches on his back but he is mostly white. His tail is full and he has not been microchipped.
He was wearing a collar with a blue tag in the shape of a bone, with details of the person who was looking after him who’s name is Nicky Jenkins and the address is Holly Hill in Southampton.
Her phone number is also on the tag.
He was wearing a brown collar, but both this and the tag may have been removed.

Thank you for your time.

Julia

Bailey

Bailey will be going to his new home soon!!

Bailey arrived this morning.
He is a 2 year old Collie.
Not long after Bailey arrived, I took him (and Ozzie of course) to the New Forest to meet my friend Kay and her Border Terrier, Charlie.
Bailey was a good boy in the car and was friendly with other dogs on the walk.
He waited very patiently in the car with Ozzie while Kay and I had our coffee.

Bailey is looking for a home as he comes from an Army family and unfortunately they are unable to take him to their new location.
They have had Bailey since a puppy and he has been much loved.

Bailey was a little camera shy so will send more photos when he has settled in.

progress update: 20/3/11

Hi Helen

A few pics. to show you what a lovely time I am having in my new home!

I love my KONG which I have had a few treats in!
The Lab. is my mate Dudley he is nearly two and so much fun!! He helped me to improve my recall skills so I am now allowed off the lead, which is so much more fun especially when you meet new friends,
like ‘Flint’ a 1 year old collie who I met on one of my walks, I wasn’t so white after this game as we romped in the marsh as well as the water?!
I love the fact that I live so close to all this lovely forest, as you can see I am on top of the world on this hill!
My final pick for now is one of my toys which I can do all sorts of tricks with, my speciality is spinning it round my head like a majorette!

Thank you for helping me to be happy Dawgdog!

Love Penny (AKA Sadie)

Sadie has now found a home !!

Sadie has been with us for two days and settled in straight away, she loves playing with our dawgdogs Meg and Tess and even our grumpy Jack Russell joins in.
She is about 14 months old and is very gentle with a great temperament and loves lots of cuddles, she is a constant companion, loving to sit next to you with her head your lap.
Obviously, as she is still young she has lots of energy, but she is very calm in the house,
she needs work on her recall, but responds well to training.
Sadie has not met the grandchildren yet, but with her nature I do not think there will be a problem.

We think Sadie is a gorgeous dog who will be a faithful friend, she is looking for a loving home with lots of walks and cuddles.

Purdy (a.k.a Susie)

Susie has now found a home !!

progress update: 14/3/11

Hi Helen

Just to let you know that Susie (who will be called Purdy from now on) has settled in with Jon very well.
She has also met up with our 2 dogs, Megan and Teah, and she has been well recieved by both, Megan pretending to be her mum.
She will be registered with our vet on Tuesday.

She has a delightful nature and having met several people (including some children) over the short time we have had her, she seems ideally suited to becoming another therapy dog with Caring Canines.

Best regards
Mike Foreman

These are the photos of Suzie taken who arrived this morning.
She is very happy little girl and smiles at everybody she meets.
Still a bit nervous but a quick learner who loves cuddles, will sit on command, likes to play and a lovely girl all round.

Susie is approx 8 months old, very sweet, loves other dogs and is gentle in nature.
More to follow on her soon.

progress update: 10/3/11

Hello Auntie Helen,

Here is a picture of me in my new forever home. I shouldn’t say it of myself but between you and me I think I am looking really good now that I have put on a little weight and my fur has grown although Mum keeps having my hair cut each time I try to grow it !!!!

It is 4 months now since I came here so I have really settled and am happy. I am learning not to pull on my lead but its taking me a while as I get so excited when we go for walks and meet all my friends.

Give my love to all my friends at Dawgdogs and tell to keep their tails wagging as it won’t be long before they have a new happy home just like mine.

Lots of licks

progress update: 7/11/10

Hello Auntie Helen,

Thought I would let you know how I have settled into my new forever home. I love it & my new mum & dad love me. I’m being such a good girl. I sleep all night in my bed & in the morning i’m allowed on their bed for a cuddle. I have a toy box with a lid on but I nearly know how to get the lid off so I can play all the time although they do take my sqeaky toy away from me sometimes. I don’t really understand why but I guess they know the reason.

I am going to see uncle Graham on Mon at his Penhill house but mum hasn’t told me what for. I think its someone for me to play with !! I am also going to the hairdressers in December so am really looking forward to a pamper day. Don’t think I need a perm !

I do love pulling my dad round the park for a walk & if I slow down I get a treat so i’m beginning to learn how to get a treat. I’m not going to stop pulling for a while though because if I do the treats will stop. Oh its such a lovely dogs life.

Lots of licks Missy xxxx

Missy has now found a new home !!

Hi Helen
Missy here!
I just love this new talent I’ve learnt!
I wanted to say a big thank you for finding me a lovely new home. I think you ought to re name your charity to Matchmakers for dogs . com!
Will miss my friend Amy and thought you may like a picture of us saying goodbye!

Love to all,
Missy

progress update: 1/11/10

Yesterday a couple went to visit Missy and fell in love instantly and today Helen received these texts from Missy:-

” Hello Helen its me Missy. Dooley taught me how to write. I am so excited that I have a new forever home to go to. Yvonne and Brian can’t wait to love me so I know I will be top dog. Please can I go as soon as possible as I can’t wait to sleep in my new beds & play with all my toys. Lots of licks Missy “

Helen replied asking if Dooley had taught her to write via the computer to which Missy sent a reply-

” Yes Helen it was the computer & we laughed a lot at Dooley’s antics so I can’t wait to taste their car “

A home check was arranged for lunchtime and Missy is off to her new home tomorrow.

” How exciting ! My tail has nearly wagged off. I will tell Yvonne to put the kettle on “

progress update from Claire: 27/10/10
Hi Helen

Missy has settled down really well, she likes to be with us all the time. She has been for lots of walks and spent all her time with my 3 daughters.

When the girls disappear, she gets quite upset! Missy was very nervous when she first arrived, Now however, she is full of fun and very playful.

Missy has had a bath and looks lovely. Over the next few days, I’m sure her confidence will continue to grow.

I will keep you updated!

Titch

progress update: 4/3/11

Hi Helen
Just a quick note to let you know how Titch is.
He seems to have settled right in as if he’s always been a part of our family !
He’s eating well and loving walks !
We’ve had a couple of “accidents” in the house but not many and he will let us know if he wants to go out.
He is doing well with his crate and seems comfortable and confident to go in it at night.
He has stayed “home alone” a couple of times for short periods and was fine and gave us a lovely welcome home.
We’ll forward some pictures to you soon. Hope all is well

Fiona & Tony Bennett

Titch has now found a home !!

This Titch.
He is very sociable with other dogs and loves humans of any age.
He is terrified of being abandoned, but I am gradually trying to leave him at home for longer periods.
He seems to have gained confidence living with his foster brother so I am sure he would be happy in a forever home with another dog or with humans who would not leave him alone for long.
He is still skinny but doing his best to rectify it!
