Mo

progress update: 20/12/10

Hi Helen

Just thought I’d write a little note to tell you how Mo is getting on! ….. Well I am truly in love with him! Can’t believe how good he is and how well he has settled in! He is laying infront of his favourite place next to the fire as I write this!

He is like my little pal, everywhere I go he goes, the first week I didn’t leave him at all on his own he came everywhere with me and met my family and friends, they all adore him especially my little niece who likes to take him for walks round the garden everytime she see’s him. He’s brilliant with them. He’s also met my mums little Jack Russell Tilly who we go on walks with and they have formed quite a lovely little friendship, they love going up the garden together then they come in and play for hours, it’s quite funny to watch, they chase eachother round the house then crash out infront of the fire. He’s really come out of himself and has started to recognise people he see’s a lot (especially my mum and dad who feed him beef and chicken!) He is an easy dog to feed, he loves his food!! He has been a little bit spoilt, he has his dog food but a few times he’s had mince and chicken, which he devoured in 5 seconds!!!

He’s such an affectionate dog and loves cuddling up and his hypo time is first thing in the morning when I get up his tail doesn’t stop wagging for ages! He sits outside the bathroom and waits for me to come out! He’s quite a vocal dog too, he lets me know when it’s time for walks and if you come in the house he gets excited and starts talking!! He loves chasing balls on his walks, that’s all he wants to do really and gets quite upset if another dog takes the ball! So we always have a few on hand! Staight away he was brilliant on walks, he’s good off the lead and always comes back when you call him.
He’s got his little place in my car and is really good in the car.

I am very happy with him and absolutely adore him!!!! So thank you for letting me have the beautiful little Mo :-)

I will keep you updated! If you could maybe pass on to Jane too that he is settling in great.

Thanks

Laura

progress update: 24/11/10

Mo has really come a long way in the week he has been with us.
We have just started taking him for walks and it soon became clear he just wanted to follow Ozzie so we let him off the lead.
He loved the beach but is a little nervous on busy roads, just don’t think he is used to cars.
Mo does not pull on the lead at all. In the house he is quiet and friendly with visitors.
This weekend was Jeremy’s 18th and the house was full of merry teenagers and Mo didn’t bat an eye, it was Ozzie who wanted to join the party at 4 am!!
I am amazed how well little Mo has settled in so quickly to our busy house.
He is an easy little boy and will reward his lucky new owners with lots of love.

more photos to follow soon

Update on Mo who arrived today:-

I’ve had a really stressful day today, first of all I have to say goodbye to my brother and then Jane comes along and takes me to her house. It seems ok, she tells me that Ozzie lives here but he is out for a long walk with his Dad today, I feel very nervous but then Jeremy woke up, it was about 4 pm so that’s strange, but he cooked some sausages and boy they smelt good! Then Jane gave me some sausages and they were lush. She said they were her best chipolatas but didn’t mind if it made me happy so she cooked some more. It was just getting dark and Ozzie came home very tired and hungry. He could smell the sausages too! But then, he really upset me. Jane had given me a really cosy bed and what happens but Ozzie thinks its his and steals it from me!!! Jane has taken some photos for you to see!!

Mo is a 6 month old Jack Russell Terrier Cross boy. More details to follow once he settles in but in the mean time, if you think you could offer Mo a home, please ring Helen at the rescue!

Mo is good with other dogs and children.

A commission will be donated to the Rescue from any orders made via this banner link!

progress update: 16/11/10

We would like to thank Ruth Mc Culloch who has kindly

donated £10 towards Maggies’s care.

progress update from Jackie: 13/11/10

Maggie has settled well and has even tried chasing the cat!! It’s so lovely to see her getting excited usually when food is around!!
She tries to jump up but can’t quite manage it. She only need a short walk and is faster off the lead than on.
As long as you don’t walk too fast she will trot to keep up with you.
She was approached by a large young dog in the park and she is still feisty enough to warn him off!

Maggie is back at the Rescue and looking for a new home

Maggie arrived on Friday and seems to have settled in well.
She has had a hair cut since we last saw her and has put a bit of weight on.
She still enjoys her food.
She is looking for a quiet home to live out her remaining life.

Maggie has found a home

Hi Helen,

Maggie has only been in her new home for just over 2 days but I thought I’d send some photos so you could see how she is settling in.
She seems to quite like her new snuggly bed and is quite happy investigating the garden. The neighbour has some geese and chickens so she is finding the smells on that side of the garden particularly interesting!
Brian and I took her for a walk yesterday (Sunday) she met some cows and sheep which seemed to fascinate her, especially the cows.
She appears to be quite comfortable with Gordon already, following him around and rolling over for her tummy to be rubbed at every opportunity.

Best wishes
Mandy

Maggie has now found a home!!

Maggie will be going to her new home later this week!!

progress update: 8th Oct 09

Maggie is a lovely old lady she likes nothing better than being petted and stroked. If allowed she would happily jump up on the sofa next to you.

She has been mistreated in the past and this shows when she cowers if you suddenly lift your hand and also when you try and pick her up.

She squeals and yelps when you pick her up as if you are hurting her but as soon as you put her on your lap and stroke her she is quite content to stay there.

I have been able to brush her all over even on her tummy without any problems.

She gets excited at meal times and will jump up on her back legs she has also tried to entice our dog Basil to play with her but Basil just seems a bit bemused and doesn’t join in.

She is fine on a lead but has only got little legs so doesn’t walk at a fast pace but is content to amble on at her own pace, pausing every time a car goes past.

I think she would make an ideal companion in an adult only household, she is very endearing and such an easy dog to have around the house.

Maggie is a 9 year old Cairn Terrier who gets on well with other dogs but not cats.

Milo

progress update: 12/12/10

Hi there Milo and ….! Thought I would say hi and how excited I am to hear that dad is to foster. I have discussed this with Tom to which the reply was ” Cool someone else to play squeaky toy with” , me on the other hand ( as im more mature now) can show the new arrival how to work dad with the “big brown eyes look” it works every time , that saying we have been told that no inappropriate behaviour from us two will be tolerated and if we act naughty our collar collection will be sold on EBAY! ….am secretly hoping that the horrible blue one goes as it doesn’t do a thing for me !
Helen keep up the good work I am so happy with my life and thanks to you fate prevailed. We hope to see you very soon , Tom and I hope the lovely Jackson is on the round to recovery , he will make a brilliant friend to any knowledgeable human. All the best Helen , love Milo x

progress update: 25/10/10

Hi there its only me Milo …how’s you ? Thought I would give you a current update . Dad is busy decorating to which I find it highly amusing that he has millions of shades of one colour yet they all look the same …if only he could see it through dogs eyes. Tom and I are still getting on although he seems to think its funny running and jumping at me whilst I trying to relax after a hard day looking gorgeous …I take so much then I bark back in a “don’t push me tone” ..it works!

I have also made friends with the pup terrier “Poppy” next door , I look HUGE standing next door to her, Tom just snootily walks past.
Maybe its the weather but I am really struggling walking back home and sleep for longer periods soon after ( normally on dads lap) , so Dad has put me on cod liver oil tablets as the vet man said I could be getting arthritic..saying that when Tom is playing in garden I occasionally chase him to pinch his toy …he goes running back to dad whimpering tee hee.

Cant wait for Christmas we apparently have new winter coats and lead sets coming ( please god don’t make them sparkly) .
Before I go Dad wants to know if you can use our old collars and leads and also needs your full address again if possible ( diary went in washing machine …again) .

All the Best Helen , Hope to see you soon , Milo , Tom. and Dad x

He is neutered and fully vaccinated.
We had him staying in kennels as had to get him away from farmer who was about to stick a bullet in him as he won’t round up sheep.

Titch (a.k.a Little Ted)

progress update: 25/11/10

Just wanted to let you know Titch has settled in really well. He’s had no major problems.
We love him to bits already. Slept like a little star next to our bed.
I voiced my concerns to my daughter that he hadn’t had a poo the first day and being the clever little dog he is did it right in front of me as I finished my sentence. Unfortunately on the lounge carpet but hey ho!!
His throat is getting better unfortunately but isn’t barking too much!
He’s had a couple of snaps at Malc but we’re nipping that in the bud.
Tried it on with Maisie dog a couple of times.
No harm in trying your luck but I don’t think he’s cottoned on that he’s midget yet.
Needless to say I’ve got Ceasar Milan on series link on the Sky+ box now, ready for my next daily Titch challenge.

Thanks again.

Regards
Sue

Titch is a lovely little fellow and is settling in well, he was very nervous when he arrived yesterday, but has grown in confidence already, and now comes up to us for a fuss, instead of running away.

He gets on very well with the other dogs and likes to play with them and run around in the garden.

Titch is a 6-month old Jack Russel
