Robyn

progress update: 6/1/14

Hi All just a few words to let you know that our lovely Robyn died on Saturday night.
The other three dogs were all asleep on the big sofa and Mike and I were watching TV.
Robyn was asleep in front of the fire as usual, the seizure was very sudden and moved her off her bed and onto the fire surround.
She grazed her nose and was unable to stand.
We don’t think she knew much of what was happening.
We took her straight to the Vethospital and they euthanized her.
She wasn’t expected to go through the night and we didn’t want to take any chances that she may be in pain.
She went very quietly and was the most beautiful, serene and gentle dog to the very end.
Our vet believes she was 13 or 14 years old when she died.
She had spent the last 8 years with us and it was a great privilege to have her in our lives.
We will miss her very much.
Losing Vinnie and Robyn within 7 months of each other is really tough.
Love Marilyn & Mike

Alby

progress update: 8/6/13

Alby has now found a home !!

progress update: 4/4/13

Just had a great walk with Alby my foster dog,
my three and a three legged Lurcher, what fun they had,
Alby had his first off lead walk and he had a blast playing chase with his friends,
came back every time I called him.
What a little star he was , I am soo proud of him.
He is so eager to please.

Through no fault of his own Alby is back at the Rescue and needing a home.

progress update: 3/4/13

Alby has settled happily back into his foster home playing with his mates Diggery and Zander,
he has now been neutered which was a larger op than anticipated as one of his testicles was up by his kidneys and he was out of sorts for a while, he is now fit and well,
this little dog came from the pound and was on death row, a bag of bones riddled with worms and fleas all this has been treated as he has put on lots of weight,
a playful friendly little chap also very affectionate.
Alby is approx 4yrs old Terrier X

progress update: 22/3/13

Letter from Alfie’s new owners-
Dear Pat, I felt I had to write to thank you for letting us have Alfie we count ourselves very lucky.
We had tried for so long to get another Westie to replace our little Lacy and we never thought we would get any dog to take her place she meant so much to us.
But now we have Alfie he is so lovely and he has settled in so well,
he is such a little show off and he has already got us wrapped around his paw,
if you are in touch with his previous owners please tell them he is happy and much loved already
x

progress update: 16/3/13

This came from Pat who fostered Alby:

“Had a phone call from Alby’s lovely new mummy,
he has settled well and behaving himself and doing what Alby does best following her around,
I am so proud of him and how he has behaved in just two short weeks”

progress update: 16/3/13
Albys’ home check was good so he is off to start his new life tomorrow.
Thanks to all the people that made it possible and got him off death row and into safe hands,
he has been a great little dog to foster and so grateful for all that’s been done
x

Alby enjoying Crufts on TV, he was mesmerized

Alby 4/5 terrier mix, loves every one and everything, dogs and humans alike, travels well, sleep quietly in his crate at night, this little chap has a rough start and is now looking for lots of love and fuss, could use a little refresher on training

Alby is turning out to be a loyal faithful little chap who just need his very own person to dote on and love and he will give it back in bucketfuls

Alby was in a pound and due to be put to sleep.
He is a 4/5 yr old male dog, very friendly and affectionate and in need of lashings of TLC.

Leo and Jenn

REHOMED !!

progress update on Jenn : 30/12/13

IMG-20130904-WA0000

Hi Helen

Can’t believe that we’ve had Jenn with us for pretty much 6 months.

Thought we’d send a bit of an update to let you know that she’s still doing really well.
She’s no longer in the crate and happily stays in the kitchen while we’re out.
She had her first season in November so we will be making the arrangements to get her spayed at the end of February.

Her confidence has come along in leaps and bounds – she’s very good with other dogs – happy to play but happy to come away when called.
We went through a stage of her chasing bikes and runners. But now they are completely ignored.
Her recall is very good, she never goes that far away and it’s not unusual to come around the corner on a walk and find there waiting for us to catch up.

She seems to love people too and doesn’t seem to bark much at home either. In fact our neighbours didn’t realise that we had Jenn J she’s been so quiet.

So all in all a good 6months – she’s definitely not the same little dog I picked up from you at the end of June.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Regards

Sarah & Kevin

Axel [DogwatchUK]

Axel a cute puppy will make a great family pet

Axel is a cute puppy who is full of fun and keen to learn. He will make a great addition to any family, he likes children. He will be an active boy who will keep you entertained.

Breed : Cross
Age: 10 months old

Axel is a cute little cross breed puppy boy he is very sweet and loves his cuddles. Axel will be ideal for a home that wants to make a young dog their own. He’s a prime candidate for puppy classes and will train very well as he is quick to learn. We think he has collie in him, as his legs are like collie legs and he moves like a collie so will be very active and intelligent. He’s very lightweight though, weighing only 9 kgs.

Axel a rescue puppy for adoption

He is very good on his lead and loves cuddles. He can be homed with a female dog but isn’t too keen on boy dogs.

This poor little baby was in a dogs home and after 7 days his name  would be put on the list to be put to sleep. Dogwatch couldn’t stand the  thought of a young puppy being Put To Sleep so we offered to take him  right away. The staff at the pound told us – “We think this boy may have some collie in him as he is very crafty in the way that he pretends that he hasn’t  had his treat at bed time, (I don’t think he tastes the first one) and  is already sat waiting for his next treat. He loves my little girl so I think he has already been in a home with children. He likes  to drag his bedding out of his bed but hasn’t chewed it as yet. We  haven’t managed to asses him around cats.”

Last of all he seems to love everyone.

Axel is very good on the lead and he is house trained but he will need more puppy training as soon as he is homed.

Fosterers Report : Axel this week has really calmed down. He is good on his lead and in general. He gives you his paw and loves his bones and toys.

Axel is currently in a foster home in Henley in Arden, Warwickshire, West Midlands

Fosterers report : Foster mum Ann says he’s ” interested ” in other dogs and the cat but not aggressively so. We took him round town at weekend and he was a good boy, so he is mixing and getting lots of new experiences.

Kenny the hero

REHOMED!!

progress update: 11/12/13

Update on DAWGdog Kenny who is now a hero!!

“Just wanted to let you know that Kenny has been a hero. last Sunday we were walking at ham common and he ran off..which isn’t that unusual as he always finds dogs to play with..or people to go say hi to…he thinks he is a celebrity and everyone should meet him!!! This time he didn’t come back so I wondered back to find him and a family we had met earlier told me he had run off the beaten track following a couple and a little dog…also who we had met earlier. So I continued after him only to find that the lady slipped and had broken her foot really badly. Kenny had brought me to her. We then had to run all the way back to the car park to meet the ambulance and show the paramedics where the lady was. I am so proud of the little fella as the lady could have been there for a long time as the ladies brother did not want to leave her. Kenny you are a hero and I know Angela his foster mum has helped to make you the brave little soldier that you are. we love you little puppy”

progress update: 28/7/13

Kenny
Kenny did well at The Branksome Rec dog show today.
Kenny was happy to see his foster Mum Angela.
