Mitchell and Bailey (a.k.a Vinnie)

Mitchell and Vinnie have both now found homes !!

progress update on Vinnie (now Bailey) : 23/6/12

Hi Helen, just a message to let you know how Bailey’s settling in to our home.
It’s 10 days since we picked him up from Tanya’s and he’s come on leaps and bounds and really getting his confidence.. infact he’s a mischevious little so and so,but we all think he’s great.
We’ve managed to get him to sit,lay down and walk to heel almost perfectly.
His recall is good now, we’ve let him off his main lead, and have a long lead that we run with him with, checking his recall, which is getting better by the day.
He’s playful and we’re really loving having him here.
I’ve attached some recent pictures of him.
I love the way his tongue sticks out when he’s sleeping!
Kind regards,Anni

Hi Helen,

I have attached a few photo’s of Vinnie for you.
He has settled in really well and has a very sweet nature.
He loves the children and is incredibly gentle with them.
He adores cuddles and loves to have his tummy tickled!
He walks well on the lead and is adapting well to his surroundings.
He is very vocal around the cats but hasn’t shown any signs of aggression towards them.

I will update again shortly,
Tanya

Dear Helen

Congratulations for the recognition of your rescue work.

She was fostered with Nikki.
As you can see she has settled in and is just finishing her Novice training course.

Best Regards

Libby has now found a home !!

progress update: 16/6/12

Hi Helen here is an update on Libby

Libby has been fostering with us since Wednesday and has slotted in perfectly, she is such a sweet natured girl eager to please and extremely loving, she is clean and quiet in the house, happy to be crated, travels well in the car and can be left.

Libby also gets on well with other dogs she meets on our walks and is very good around children, she will make a wonderful addition to any family, we all adore her.
regards
Niki

Libby is a two year old Collie who was found straying and taken in.
She had been seen for several days in the same place as if she was waiting for someone to return for her. We think that she was dropped off and left as it was a rural area.
She gets on with other dogs, more to follow once she has settled in

Halle

Halle has now found a home !!

Halle is a 12 week old girl Collie type puppy.
Her mother is a working farm dog working cattle.
The farm and the family who own it are lovely people and the Halle and her two brothers Sparky and Spot liked to sit in the field twice a day and watch their Mum work.

Amber

Amber has now found a home !!

Hi Helen,

Please find attached a few photo’s of the Lab X who arrived this morning.
I’m not sure if she has a name (?) but we have been calling her Amber.
She is a friendly little girl (Lab size) who so far, has been good with the other dogs, cats and the children.
However, she is very playful and would probably be best suited to a family with older children.

Thanks,
Tanya

Mia

Mia has now found a home !!

Mia is a 2 year old Brindle SBT with an exuberant personality and lots of energy.
She likes nothing more than a good run followed by lots of fuss from her owners.
She is food oriented so will do anything for a tasty treat.

Mia has been socialised with other dogs and plenty of people from birth, and she is super friendly with both other dogs and people.
She can become over excited with new people or situations so will need an experienced owner to work with her.

Mia is good with children. She currently lives in a household with a 9 month old.
She is very gentle when told to be, but would need supervision around children as all dogs do.

Mia is house trained, crate trained from a puppy, and can also do tricks for food rewards or a good pat on the back. She already knows how to sit, stand, lie down, stay, ‘kiss’ (lick hand), give her paw, speak (bark), watch (eye contact), find, fetch and roll over on command.
She is very trainable if you would like to teach her other commands.

Mia travels well in the car if you like to take road trips.
She has no health issues to date.

Mia is spayed and fully up to date with her vaccinations.
She has been trained to only play with her own toys, and if you say ‘leave’ she will not slobber on or chew anything that isn’t hers!

Mia is a lovely dog that will be missed by her family who are going to live overseas.

Scooby

This is Scooby, he is an 18 month old Bulldog cross SBT, he is good with all dogs, just wants to play and hasn’t shown any interest in the cats at the shelter.
Scooby is very friendly with all people he is just very very excitable and boistrous and as such does mouth quite hard when over excited.
Scooby CANNOT be placed with children due to his boistrous behaviour, he has previously met children and just would not leave them alone, constantly wanting to play!
He responds much better towards men than women and ideally we would like to find him either a foster or forever home with somebody who has experience with over excitable bull breeds.
He would also really benefit from having a female playmate of a similar size or larger than him to help keep him entertained!

If you have any other questions feel free to contact us either by email or by phone on 02380 693282

Many thanks

Dannie – Supervisor at St. Francis Animal Welfare

Bruno

Bruno has now found a home !!

progress update from Jackie
Bruno has just arrived.
He’s about 7-8 months old.
He gets on with our dog Basil and submits when Basil tells him off.
He has already learnt to sit for his food and treats but hasn’t quite learned to wait yet.
He is fine with our cat anf ferrets.
He loves being petted but does have a habit of jumping up which I am working on stopping.
He responds well to a rattle can but just ignores a water spray when doing something he shouldn’t.
He would make a lovely dog for an active family.

Julie

Julie has now found a home !!

progress update: 28/5/12
Julie is looking for her special home.
She is a really nice little house guest, I hardly know she is here, not high maintenance at all, just a cosy place to sleep.
Treats – she likes a carrot for her afternoon snack!
If you can offer her a home please call Helen 01202 380467

progress update: 14/5/12
Good morning all, me Julie here!
Well I’m having a great time with my foster mum and being a very well behaved little dog, going for long walks off my lead, coming back when called, clean in the house, quiet at night.
I’m not a high maintenance dog..once i’ve had my walk i’m up for snoozing on the sofa (or in the garden when its sunny.
I’m getting on well with the three dogs i’m bunked up with but would equally be happy as an only dog. If you need someone to love you (thats me!)

hi Helen photos of me julie who is a little sweetheart,
we spent the afternoon snuggled on the sofa, she was so tired,
she is eating well and appears clean in the house,
showing signs of protectiveness with me towards other dogs so will snap that in the bud,
not at all shy and always up for a cutch x
