Jaz

Jaz has now been homed !!

Hi I am Jaz and I went to a home a year ago when I was still a young pup.
My lady’s working hours have changed and she felt it better that I came back to the rescue even though it broke her heart and mine to do so.
I am scared of lots of noises – silly isn’t it but Jeff who I am staying with is taking me to the pub everyday to get me used to noises and I am doing very well!
He has five dogs here and I like all of them and there is a horse too!

progress update 27/7/10

Just wanted to drop you a line to update you on how well Casey is settling with us so far. I’ve attached some photo’s but have been unable to get a photo of all three of them together as they won’t all sit still long enough!!

We collected her last Friday on the 16/07 and her confidence has grown daily. Our other dogs Charlie and Roxie have accepted her into the family really well although Roxie is a little ‘miffed’ that she’s not the baby any more but thinks that all the extra treats are worth the repositioning in her pack!!! She greats all visitors with a wonderful waggy tail and can’t wait to get out into the garden to play. Her only vice (so far!) is her ‘love’ of water (which Carol did warn us about!!) – she loves to climb into the water bowl and empty it out over the kitchen floor!! She’s been wonderful with our children and our foster child whose only 16 mths old and is the perfect addition.

She gives wonderful kisses and thoroughly enjoys her cuddles which is great because she’s getting lots!! Thank you for saving her and allowing us into her life.

Kind regards,

The Leonard Family

progress update 27/7/10

Hi Helen,

I thought you’d like an update on ‘Ted’, and how he is settling in at my house in the three weeks that I have had him.

Soon after I brought ‘Ted’ home I changed his name to Scruffy – it suited him, and he only took about 2 weeks to respond to it. He is a delightful dog, and we get along really well. He follows me everywhere in the house, garden and even at work. He greets anyone who visits me with such affection, and is brilliant with my grandchildren.

Just last week I treated him to a session at the local dogs beauty parlour – and the photo attached shows you the results. A clean dog, having had a hair cut, pedicure and bath. He is so proud of himself now, and tears around the garden like a pup!

The only problem I have with him is on taking him out. I haven’t let him off the lead yet, as he strains constantly when he sees another dog – and if one comes near he tends to go for it. I hope this will sort itself out soon, as I am going to try letting him off the lead next weekend. I’m waiting until then, as I have insurance starting on 1st August!

I’ll keep you up to date every so often; Scruffy is the best thing that has happened to me for a long while – a good companion and friend.

Yours

Brenda

progress update 20/7/10

Hi everyone sorry I’ve not been in touch but my foster family took me on holiday with them.
We had a great time and I was a little star.
We had 4 Acres of fields and a stream to play in ,just us dogs and mum and dad and of course all our friends who came to visit .
I’ve learned how to swim now though I’m not to keen.
I hope you like the new pictures of me .
I think I look really good.
catch you later.
Sophie.

o yes I forgot to say I know some horses now and sheep and cows and I was a very good girl when I met them.

My name is Sophie and I’m a Sprollie, you’re going to ask what is that?
Well let me tell you I’m a spaniel collie cross and by the looks of things I’ve got the best of both in me, intelligent, funny and gorgeous
my foster mum (Angela) thinks I’m great
I adore to go for walks with my friends and I have very good recall off lead.
I’m house trained and I sleep in my crate.
Mum says that I’m a cheeky girl, always stealing shoes even though we have a box of toys to choose from.
When my friends are tired and mum is trying to get the house work done I’m quite happy to find things to entertain myself.
I would really like to be re-homed with another well mannered and rounded dog .
I can still be a little shy. but when one of my four legged friends show me its ok, I’m the next one there doing whatever they were up to!
So do you think I might be the pup for you ??
If so give Helen a call and come and meet me and my foster family,
as I’m ready to be re-homed.
Lots of Licks Sophie.

REHOMED.

Spencer has now been homed !!

Hi, I am Spencer somewhere between three and four years old, I don’t keep track of birthdays.
I arrived at the rescue on Sat from a dog pound it was a narrow escape for me as I had run out of time.
I like people, dogs and am not bad with cats either.
I know sit, love toys and need a bit of training but hey who doesn’t, ask most wifes and they will say the same about their husbands.

progress update 11/7/10

Lady came to visit today with Craig who has adopted her and Cara (originally called Fern ) another Dawgdog.
She was not in the least fazed by the noise of the machinery that the Gas Board were using next to the car as you can see from the photo!

Dido

Dido has now been rehomed !!

Hi, my name is Dido and I am 8 months old.
Somewhere in my genes is a GSD and a Collie so I have very good ancestry getting the best of two types of dogs.
I am the size of a Collie so not too big. I love the company of other dogs and people and also love food so as often as I can get away with it steal any food I can.
Jeff who is fostering me had left a loaf of bread that he made to prove and I very nearly managed to get it but he heard the tin hit the floor and caught me out.
Helen said it was a good job too when Jeff told her as rising bread in my tummy would of made me very ill indeed.
I do like the taste of furniture so please understand I am at that age when I like to chew.
I am good off the lead and have lovely walks with Jeff and his five dogs in the forest and then we all retire for a good run around his paddock.

All in all life is good here but Jeff can’t have six dogs so a home is on the cards for me.

Max ( the terrier )

Max has now been rehomed !!

Max is a 10 month old JRT who has come from a loving home but unfortunately they are no longer to keep him.
We are told by his previous owners that Max loves going for a walk,
he is good with other dogs and his recall is great off the lead.
He is an affectionate boy who loves to give kisses and have cuddles.
He wants to be near you most of the time but he is ok to be left at home alone.
He loves being outside in the garden with you just pottering around and loves chasing the hosepipe water!

Jackson

REHOMED

progress update: 4/7/10

Hi Helen
Jackson has settled in to his new home and has come out of himself 100%.
He loves interacting with my husband, 9 year old son and 5 year cat, Booshy.
He is a mummy’s boy and we start puppy classes this week.
He continues to be very affectionate and adores human contact.
My son donated his old disney blanket to Jackson and he sleeps with it everynight in his bed.
Early mornings is his play time and last thing at night he has a funny five but thats just him.

He walks off the lead when we accompany my neighbour and her female toy poodle, Dilly and runs for miles in the forest.

As you can see by the photos he does get away with certain things we never allowed our previous dog to do such as sit on the settee.

Thanks again for allowing us to have the privilage of having Jackson in our family.

progress update from Jackson’s foster home, 29th May 2010

Jackson has been with us for over a week now and he is such a poppet.
He is a lovely red colour and beautiful soft brown eyes that are so full of love.
Jackson has the sweetest nature, very affectionate in fact he is a 24/7 a lap dog.
He adores human contact and gives the nicest kisses, he is so gentle and loves everyone. He lives happily with our 3 dogs and socializes well.
He is 90% house trained and sleeps in his crate at night ,he will sit when asked and give you a paw.
I still cant believe what people do as Jackson was found wondering the streets at 11.30 at night cold very hungry and scared witless and yet this little boy has done nothing but shown me love and trust, you can do anything with him .
Jackson is maybe 11 weeks old now although I’m in no rush for him to go anywhere, it is time for him to find his new home and for me to let someone else have a chance to love him,as believe me you will fall in love with this special boy.

Lots of Love Angela & Jackson.
