Kim and Sheba

A big “Thank you!” to Ann who fostered Kim and Sheba.

They went to her terrified to get within touching distance of people and who

( after Ann had spent hours just sitting in a chair by them)

changed into confident, sociable dogs before going  new homes.

progress update: 25th May 09

Kim and Sheba have both now found homes !!

We have never been out of a shed before and today for the first time
we went in a car.
After a while we looked out of the window and there was so much to look at.
When we arrived at the rescue we couldn’t believe it the door was open and we went into the sun.
We are not sure what to make of all this and are staying away from Helen and running
and hiding in our bed.
We heard her say that we will soon learn that life has improved and to be stroked and cuddled.
Bracken has already got into the cuddling thing.
Clive is ok and we quite like playing with him, he says there is a whole new world out there for us to discover.
It is so nice to stretch our legs and to run up and down outside.
We have never slept on blankets before and they are extremely comfortable and
there is also a heater on in our room at night !!
This is all very new to us.

Walter

Stop press!

Walter has already found a new home with Roger and Veronique who have rescued a DAWGdog in the past!

progress update from Jane: 25th May 09

Hi Helen

A couple of pictures of Walter for the web site.
After his long journey yesterday, Walter slept like a log last night.
In fact I had to nudge him to wake him up this morning!
Walter is absolutely gorgeous, very sweet natured but desperate for some TLC.
He is so thin and very stiff but perhaps when he has a bit of fat on him that will ease.
He seems a little hard of hearing but does come to you with body language and
food! I think he will enjoy the BBQ tonight!!
Have had the usual “can we keep him” from Jem!
Speak soon, Jane ox

Walter came from a farmer who had decided he was no longer of use to them.
He is seven years old and has a lovely gentle nature.
He is thin and is on extra rations to bring him up to weight.

He is fostering with the Ferguson Family and Ozzie their dog.

If you think that you may be able to provide

a good home

please contact Helen

on 01202 380467

or email helen@dawgdogs.net

for more details!

We will usually only rehome within approx 30miles of the Bournemouth/Poole area
in order that we can ensure the continued well-being of the dogs in our care.
We will sometimes re-home further afield to this but only if the homes are exceptional.
We are NOT looking for just ANY home that is offered.
All potential homes will be assessed to try and ensure the best possible home to cater for the differing needs of each individual dog that we look after.

Lucky

progress update: 25th May 09

Lucky has now found a home !!

progress update from Jackie: 23rd Apr 09

Lucky is a very individual dog, full of contradictions!!!

She spends a lot of her time curled up in her bed or some other hidey-hole, like under the table or desk. For all that she’s not a nervous or jumpy dog alarmed by loud noises or cheering.

She walks quite well on a lead although I haven’t let her off yet. She will chase a ball in the garden but she takes it straight to her bed unless stopped in her tracks when she will give it up quite willingly to be thrown again.

She is friendly with other dogs we meet but has shown slight signs of jealousy towards our dog, but no aggression.

Lucky’s not an excitable dog but does wag her tail when we arrive home, and she likes to be petted but always seems to look a bit unsure of herself as though she doesn’t deserve good treatment!!

She does suffer a bit of seperation anxiety and does howl intermittantly during the night but is easily reassured with a quick visit to settle her down.

She has travelled well in the car on the short journeys I’ve taken with her and quite happily curled up in the back without howling when I popped into a shop.

I think she would make an ideal dog for an adult household and that she would make a loyal companion given time to settle in.

All in all she is a very endearing dog that grows on you the more you get to know her!!

Hope I haven’t put people off ‘cos she’s lovely dog!!!

Jackie
