Oscar

Rehomed

progress update: 21/5/13

Helen,
Just to let you know that all is well with Oscar.
Him and I must have been made for each other.
Cannot believe how well over this first 6 months he has fitted in.
I obviously chose the right dog. Would not like to be without him.
Hope you are keeping well
All the best.
Brian

progress update: 16/1/13

Helen
Think you would like to know. All OK with Oscar.
Can not believe how well he has fitted in.
So well you would think he has been here all the time.
Have been able to brush him every day with out any fuss.
In fact he likes it. Want to keep it that way.
So rather than me, have Vet recommended lady come so he can be groomed and washed ,which he needs.
She knows situation he could be nasty, hopefully not.
So keep your fingers crossed for me next Tuesday.
He is a great little dog, and think it is correct to say he likes me and I like him.
All the best for new year
Brian.

progress update 22/8/10

Skippy is now living with Claire !!

Mutley and Spike are very pleased!!

DASTARDLY MESSAGE FROM MUTLEY AND SPIKE
————-
Word around the Rescue is that Helen likes Skippy so much that she is thinking of  keeping her for herself…..!
It  isn’t often that we agree with each other on anything, but we are both in no doubt that this is A Very Bad Thing for our future Bonio rations !!!!!
Please help us to find Skippy a new home…QUICKLY !!!
Yours desperately worriedly
Mutley and Spike

P.S
Er.. better not say anything to Helen that we’ve said any of this, or else we’ll have no Bonios for misusing the website…
She’s out at the moment so she’ll not be happy if she gets back to find this.
Hopefully we can have Skippy safely rehomed before she gets back…
What a bind to be in!

progress update: 20/7/10

Hi, I had a bath today and now smell much nicer. It wasn’t too bad and I did feel less itchy afterwards. Here is a photo of me on the towel drying myself.

On Thurs Helen took me to a lovely house which to my surprise turned out to be Graham of Afrivets surgery.
I would never of known if he hadn’t been there.
There was even a garden for me to play in if I felt nervous.
Graham likes the animals to feel like they are in a house which is less scary than the Doctors I felt completely at home and watched pigeons on the fence whilst he examined me.
Graham said I was a real sweetie and Helen thinks this too.
I liked Graham very much even when he gave me an injection because he gave me a treat straight after.
Helen said that if someone doesn’t offer me a home soon she may end up with another dog. Mutley and Spike rolled their eyes, they have heard all this before.

I went out with The Ball Throwing Gang today, Dooley, Spike and Fudge are The Ball Throwing Gang.
Fudge is Helen’s boss’s dog and on the days she works we all walk together.
Mutley isn’t usually allowed out with this gang as he becomes obsessive over the ball and spoils the games but today he was allowed along as we were going to the field.
The Ball Throwing Gang become The Swimming Gang on the days we go to the field because they all swim in the river. You can see me in the river doing a Otter impression.
Dooley told me all this so I understood the routines.
He said to remember to always let him get the ball.
Unfortunately Mutley did spoil the game and wouldn’t let anyone else have the ball, I am not sure what Dooley thought of this change of rules but I noticed he didn’t grumble at Mutley as he would of at the rest of us.
Helen said  ” Well, that’s it then Mutley has the ball now so we may as well walk around the field”.

Helen said she knew I would be good off the lead as I am a star dog.
I think she is in love with me, I am very good, I always sleep quietly at night,do my business outside and mind my P’s and Q’s with the other dogs.

Hi, I am Skippy and I have just arrived into the rescue today because my family didn’t want me anymore.
It is not bad here and I like Helen who I follow everywhere.
Mutley is not too keen on this and told me to get back in the kitchen, I sneaked around him and am now sitting at Helen’s feet endearing myself to her.
I am not keen on young children they are a bit squealy and run about too much.
I need a bit of TLC which I think I may get here, not too keen on the bath idea though !!

Molly (a.k.a Amber, a.k.a Missy)

REHOMED

progress update: 22/3/13

Hello Helen.
You may remember that I homed Molly (Amber) last year.
She has settled down well now-but is far more sociable with other dogs than with humans!
As a family, we have a mixture of 5 JRTs , who all visit often and Molly is always delighted to see them.
I would love to take on another one, and perhaps start looking next year
But for now…..here she is, watching Animal magic on TV,
and down on the beach-where she is happiest, and finishing off my yoghurt!.

Lynn

Amber has now found a home !!

progress update: 21/7/12

Hello Helen! …
Thought you would like to see this picture of AMBER… (now known as Molly) who came to live with me in January……..she was quite skinny when she arrived but now the vet says she is a bit overweight! …
so am I, so we are both on a new diet/excersise programme for the summer.!
She is a bit more sociable now, and knows most of my family. Still
scared of men, and will not have anyone strange walking behind her.
But doing very well. Was due to be speyed at end of Feb, but came into
season. so we had to wait until end of May. Is over it now, but she
has lost a couple more of her teeth. Otherwise she is healthy and
happy!
regards…Lynn.x

progress update: 23/1/12

Amber has settled down very well with me.
She was very wary on the beach at first, but she seems to like it now, and becomes quite animated as we get near to it.
It maybe that she has realised we will be away from the traffic, which she is still a bit scared of…….with lots of reassurance, thats a work in progress!
She is feeding well – I am following Nicky’s routine as far as I can.
I didn’t leave her at all for the first couple of days, but this week I’ve started leaving her on her own – just for half an hour or so.
She seems fine with that and is very pleased to see me on my return.
I am going to gradually extend the time, till I can leave her a couple of hours while I go shopping etc.
I hate seeing dogs tied up outside of shops!
Putting a couple of pickies on here for you…so you can pass them on.
We are very happy togeather!!!
Lynn.

progress update: 31/12/11

Hi just a quick update on Missy AKA Amber, now we’ve had her a while,
This little dog is now starting to come out of her shell and totally enjoy life, she now loves her walks and gets
very excited once she knows we are heading out, rounding up the other dogs then waiting patiently whilst we get
ready, she travels very well in the car, no noise just sits quietly until we reach our destination, once on our walk
Missy is polite and calm around other dogs and has wonderful recall, she never ventures far and is extremely good
on the lead not pulling at all.
In the house Missy is clean and is happy to go in her crate, she does not like to be shut in so the door is always
open, she can happily be left for 2-3 hours and is very pleased to see us when we get back, she is very social
and loves to be cuddled, she is also wonderful around my children who range from 9-14 and loves to spend time
with them.
Missy is not high energy although she enjoys her walks she is not the typical bustling Jack Russell
Terrier who is always on the go, she is a very calm little girl and really would be a wonderful addition to any
household.

Regards
Niki

Rex

REHOMED

progress update: 22/3/13

Hi Helen

Just a quick note to say that we have had Rex (Irish border collie) now for just over 2 years now and he is still amazing.
Unfortunately he was very upset when I had to have Sally (one of my other border collie cross dog) put to sleep on 30th January 2013 due to ill health.

Keep up the good work.

Joan

progress update: 29/12/10

Hi Helen

Just a quick word to say that Rex is absolutely gorgeous and gets on well with my other dogs especially Scott as they are both about the same age. They love play fighting with each other but my other dogs are not amused and keep out their way. I must say that the farmer who had Rex beforehand trained him very well except for him chasing cats but we are working on that.

Rex has fallen in love with Sally. He is always going up to her and give her kisses, it is so sweet.

I am so glad we got him and hope to have many years with him.

Will email you with some photos next year.

Hope you have a good Christmas and New Year.

best wishes.

Joan

Rex has now found a home !!

progress update: 27/11/10

Rex will be arriving from Ireland on Wednesday, snow permitting!

Rex is a collie who was born September 2009 and is a lovely lad.
He was vaccinated at 12 weeks and 15 weeks old so is due his yearly booster now which I will do
.His crime for being rehomed – he won’t round up sheep
He is very friendly, great recall, playful with other dogs and doesnt really have any interaction with cats so that is unknown territory – he is a darling

Archer

REHOMED !!

progress update: 16/3/13

Hi Helen,
I wanted to send an update on Archer, one of the Kelpie puppies, we got him in November.
He is absolutely lovely such a sweet nature and very trainable.
They are so smart these dogs but not neurotic.
He is a real pleasure.
He is very good off the lead and accompanies me to the yard to do the horses.
He is good with the horses and other dogs.
We also have two small house rabbits – he is excellent with them too.

Kelpie’s are a great breed, you get the best of both worlds – great intelligence, stamina and trainability but they know how to relax and can be quite lazy too.
Having said that they are a working dog and do need plenty of excercise and a good leader.

Thank you so much

Jenine Wills and Archer xx

Bud has now found a home !!

progress update on Roz: 16/3/13

Dear Auntie Pat, Mummy said that I should write to you & complain about the day I had yesterday. First there was no breakfast then we went to the vets. I was really happy to be there as always & I was delighted that my weight had stayed at 7.8. Then she came with me through to the back of the building & they put me in a cage. The vet bed was blue not pink or lilac to match my lead. Then she went off with the nurses to see a 3 legged cat that she had rescued. They were all so pleased with cat’s progress that they completely ignored me even though I started singing in my best top soprano.( Had I told you that dearest Words & I are practising 2 part howling. Words takes the tenor line & I do the soprano. We are only doing it when she goes out so it will be perfect for her to listen to when we are ready.
Anyway I am a bit hazy about the next few hours & when mummy came to collect me I was feeling all cold & wobbly. But when we got home she carried me out of the car to the house. Then I had a light supper of minced tripe,a puree of apple & vegtables & some yoghurt. She then took me upstairs & made a nest for me on her bed. I had a long sleep & felt much better especialy because I was allowed to sleep on the bed all night.
I overheared her talking on the phone & she said that I had been sprayed or strayed or something like that. It is very boring because I have to stay on the lead for the next few days & I am a girl who likes her freedom. Still she told me that things could be worse at least I don’t have to wear an elizabethan collar whatever that is.
I hope that you all well & surviving the cold weather (I have a smart coat for quiet walks on the lead) Love from Rozxx

Bud aka Roz on her visit today.. what a little star and so happy in her new home

progress update on Roz: 3/7/12
Dear Auntie Pat just to let you know I was down to 10.2 last week,
mummy has bought some new scales so it is more accurate.
Mummy is fed up because she is going on all these long walks as well but is not loosing any weight.
Personaly I think it has something to do with chocolate icecream. Did I tell you that I had my rabies jab? I have now
got a passport & am learning to be a chienne.
Dearest Wordsworth is teaching me because he is a seasoned traveler & has been to France 3 times.
He tells me that I must learn to call him Mon Cher Amour.
He says I must learn to bark with a french accent so all the froggy
doggys understand.
One day hopefully soon I will come & see you & you will think who is
this beautiful stranger at my door!
Love from Roz

Bud’s foster Mum Pat had a call from Roz aka Bud’s new owner, this little dumpling came to us at 14 1/2 kg…massively overweight! and she now weighs in at 10kg and is dashing about everywhere x Well done Erica and Rozz

progress update on Bud/Roz: 10/6/12
Dear Auntie Pat, My mummy is very ignorant & hasn’t learnt to send pictures by e-mail but as soon as someone with a bit more intelegence comes round they will be sent.
Jubellers looks very smart in her outfit. Dearest Wordsworth & I went to London for the weekend.
We went on the train which was exciting.
The carpet on the train was covered in minute crums of food & I did a good job hoovering as much area as I was allowed to get to.
Although he has made several train journeys Dearest Wordsworth got a bit wobbly when we first got on but after about 30 minutes he felt better & we both slept for the rest of the journey.
We went for walks in some realy big parks, a bit different from the country, still we met all sorts of dogs, Dearest Wordsworth found lots of squirrels & I found some truly wonderful rubbish bins.
There was a street party where we were staying & we had our photos taken along with all the dogs & cats that live in the street.
My photos hopefully will arrive soon, love from Roz

progress update on Bud: 1/6/12
Dear Aunty Pat just to keep you up to date.
I have now progressed from small furry things to deer, they give you a much better run for your money.
I went swimming twice last week once in the Little Sea at studland & once in the river at Wareham.
I am not sure that I should have gone in the water but it looked too good to resist.
Dearest Wordsworth is swimming a lot more, mainly to take my stick away from me.
Some times we share it and both carry it back to shore.
I have now worked out the purpose of the cat flap & with slightly better measurements I can get through it easier than before.
I am definitely looking slimmer but still have a way to go.
Lots of love Roz.

progress update on Bud: 4/7/12
Dear Auntie Pat, Please please come & rescue me.
After I saw those photos you sent I realised how much I had changed.
They are starving me.
I know my maths is not very good but I am sure they are giving me one less biscuit every day.
I have had to have my collar taken in twice!
Some boys like bigger girls.
I asked Words how he thought I looked he said ‘allright I suppose’ there you see what I mean.
Yesterday I thought we were going for our usual nice quiet walk, you know look down some rabbit holes pick up some eau de fox/ badger/ hyenna shit & home for tea.
I was shocked when Words said look my friends are here & suuddenly we were surrounded by hysterical collies & a Shelty.
The Shelty told me that under all his fluff he was quite portly & advised me to get some hair extensions.
I was then forced to run around & chase sticks for about half an hour I did actually get the stick on one occasion.
See what I mean I could never have done that a few weeks ago.
I must stop now I can hear her coming up the stairs.
All my love Rosetti nee Bud

some new photos of the slimmer of the year..our beautiful Budx
now weighs in at 12.8..she was 14.45 four weeks ago

Bud has been with me a couple of weeks now and she is such a good girl,
would make a welcome addition to any family,
her weight is falling off and she will be trim in no time,
swimming is her thing but is happy to run along wherever we go.

progress update: 5/7/12

Hi Helen,

Jack arrived with us yesterday, Greig collected him and I came home with my two later,
you could see him visibly relaxing and settling as the day went by.
He and Freddie had a romp around, all a bit restricted due to the weather,
but they all appear to be getting on fine.
Ate his tea no problems, and was really good during the night,
had to go in once just after we put him to bed and then again some
time later, but I think that was due to a fox, as the others were up
and about, but he settled back down and was fine until we got up this
morning.
I took him out today as greig is out and walked with the group of dogs I walk with,
so I let him off and he was very good and soon learned to come back with the others and then on his own for
treats, I think he will be fairly easy to train, as he does like to please,
they are all settled now having a nap in various places around the house,
Will send you some pictures soon and another update.
Oh yes and seeing the vet tomorrow.

Hello All, Have settled in very well at Kevin and Nicky’s house,
Nicky says I am a good boy very gentle and very loving .
I’m a clean boy and sleep all night and love everyone I meet .
I am only a young dog and would love a forever home

Jack is about a year and a half old.
He gets on with dogs and children.
He is a mixture with collie in him somewhere and is Collie size.
A really nice dog.
